I'm looking for any info that anyone has. I'm trying to get into racing next year so I'd like to get a cart ready this winter. I will have a lil money for a kart by then.

I'm really looking for any info on modding the motors as far as who can do it and such and where anyone gets some racing parts. Or even if anyone knows where we can get a good kart.

Looks like a good time and I want to get into something with Shelley's kids.

Obviously, it will be important that you have tracks that hold races in your area. Have you found any? You can do a google search and try to find their information. Once you find the tracks, you will find the karts, parts, dealers, etc. new and used. If there are no tracks in your area, you could consider dirt track racing. The cost is very similar and some dirt track racing will be cheaper than karting. For example, I raced an entire season of dirt track for a total cost of less than $2,000 including buying the car. It's hard to beat that cost and it was a blast. Well worth the money.

The first step is finding the tracks no matter what you plan to race. Once you find the tracks you will find everything else. I'll do some searches for you and post some links. Give me a minute.

i grew up 30 minutes from comet kart sales....spent alot of time there and raced with mark and lil mark on several occasions....im tellin ya, its a blast and you will not regret it...

Back in the early 60's raced all over the place during the Lay Down( feet past front axle) Enduro days. Riverside Raceway , The Enduro at Nellis Las Vegas,
Powered by 3 Westbend 820's with 4 pumpers on each engine, 2 speed changeover, total of 48 Hp, no tuned pipes then (rear wheel HP, dynoed at Playboy Kart Encino Ca.) about like a 250 theses days, a little over 120 on the straights:rock:
Now they are hitting 150 with a 250, lots o fun and not much seems faster at 3g's in the corners Ya hooooooooooooooooooooooo

Still have a couple of engines (Yamaha YZ 125's,custom built by me ) now 175cc's) left over from desert racing..............they scream, got clocked @104mph @ the Adelanto Grand Prix on the asphalt section. Still have 15 custom Wiesco pistons(60.75mm), bearings, stroked cranks (.246" / 60.5mm long stroke) Banshi rods ( to get the rod angle correct) and other stuff Maybe ,just maybe, just to broke right now but a twin would really haul the mail ......................tempting, sure would be fun
