Going back to the track...

Still a stock shifter. Truck is near stock. Stock tires.

Mods - Bassani headers and the BG SII Flash. Thats about it.

I am getting some custom high flow mids in a week or so. As soon as I get them installed and verified, I will certainly tell eveyone how great they are. Cause, I expect nothing less from this Vendor. I wish I had his job, connections...and his freakin wicked truck.....:)

Is yours a 05? Seems guys in the 12's have 4.56, headers and flash. Cat delete, catback intake too. That seems to be the best combo for hitting 12's. I think the gears and flash are really helping out here.

Yes..its an 05.

It does have the Borla cat back on it as well. But I really don't think cat backs help with horsepower. Maybe alittle, but not worth mentioning.

A local Viper club has invited me over to there gathering today. Maybe I can pick there brains on the Tremec. I here one of them has a 1500TT. Now thats sick....

Congrats again dude, 12 second club, thats nice.

Wanna buy my x metal gen 1 shifter? I wanna get the new one.

Thanks for the offer but Ive already ordered the BM. You see that thread on special pricing for Members or group pricing?

I was the first to call on it:D

By the way THANKS on the congrats. I've wanted that 12 really bad!!!!

Tried again last night. Made only 3 passes. Shifter issue has been patched.

First pass was the best, second I bogged, and third I smoked and smoked.

60' ... 1.989
330' ... 5.524
1/8 ... 8.406
MPH ... 85.73
1000' ... 10.884
1/4 ... 12.972
MPH ... 108.03

I did it. I Ran a 12. :D Temps dropped 6 degrees on the last pass. Air was pretty good. Probably explains why I fried them at the same launch RPM.

Sh!t I just saw this - Congrats!! Great mph too!

And I agree with you about the cat-back - Better sound but that's about it. The power is in the headers and mid-pipes.

Now all we gotta do is wait for cooler weather!!!!:D :D :D

Remember when you are talking to your "Viper" bubbies that the tranny in the Vipers are not the same as in our truck. We have different stronger gears in out trannies, so their upgrades might not do anything for you.

I have all stock clutch parts and shifter also and no problems running 12's. I lift about 1/4 throttle between shifts. Video in my sig.

I Agree. :)

Im all stock as well. Just no isolator in the shifter. I lift slightly as well. I bark all gears.

Im going back this Friday. Its supposed to be cooler with lower humidity. Remember, I just have Bassani's and a flash. I want to try again to see it I can get into the 12.8's. Only thing stopping me is the 60'.

If I can get a low 1.90 60 and the temps are upper 60's as expected, I should be able to do it.:D

Simple green the tires.....spray on wipe off.

Ive heard of that. Does it really work? I have a huge bottle of that stuff.

Do I wipe it on and spin the tires alittle? Do I go thru the water box first?:dontknow:

What's the procedure?

Thanks!!!!!!!!:D

FWIW, when I ran the time in my sig I managed a 1.87 60', powershifted 2nd, but 3rd and 4th I lifted off the gas pedal and shifted as fast as I could.:D

Good Luck!!

before you go to the track....really let the tires have it....spray on...rinse off...the tires will be sticky to the touch....all of the road grime has now been removed...when you get to the track...spray on a light coat...wipe off and go around the water box....do a little scrub burn out and presto...

I just came back from the track this evening. I've mentioned this before on another thread. Anyone notice that when there are low on fuel, there motor starts to loose power...or maybe the PCM backs the timing off?:dontknow:

I always noticed this on the street. My time slip MPH backs this theory up. Best 60 of the evening and hitting every gear just perfect, I had the slowest MPH (107.11). My trip computer read 45 DTE. I was kinda low:( .

I should have had a 12.8 on that pass. Here's my best run with a slower 60 foot. I did get better. My best pass to date:D. This 60' was bad but still ran my best time. Motor is makin the power, I should have went there with the exact same setup as last time. 1/2 tank of gas damn it!

60' 2.015
330' 5.539
1/8 8.394
MPH 86.68
1000' 10.848
1/4 12.919
MPH 108.85

I wont be back to the strip for two weeks. Ill be on the road. I will be at NE Dragway next Wednesday with a friend. Ill be in a rental car.:(

...I need to change my signature....

distance to empty can be confusing. If I average 17 mpg coming off the highway and the computer shows 45 miles dte I have about 3 gallons left. If I'm heavy on the pedal and average 8mpg coming from traffic to the strip I have 5-6 gallons left.

I had about 1/2 tank when I did my racing, I'm gonna shoot for the same amount next time out. Excellent times by the way, I hope to break into the low 13s with my Paxton setup next week (elevation 5800 feet).

Well I can bust that myth. The fastest time I have ran was with the low fuel light on and like 3 on the DTE guage. I actually felt it miss just a bit after I crossed the line do too low fuel. I thought it may have even leaned out on the big end do to low fuel making more power.

Well you still got a new best ET!!

Unfortuneately, you can't duplicate the exact conditions each time you race, so there will always be a little difference +/-.

I still say DON'T change a thing on your truck and go back in the Fall. Most likely you'll be happy!!:D Personally, that's the time of year I love to race.

The thing is....

The air really couldn't have been much better. It was 55 degrees and the humidity was lower than normal. It was a good night to get that 12.8 or even a .7.

After running the 108.85 mph, the next and last two passes were 106.55 and 107.11. I know its hard to believe but, my truck seems to loose power when low on fuel. :dontknow: With my new best ET, the 60 foot actually sucked. On the last pass, I ran a better 60' and lost almost 2mph! I know that I hit every gear at the same RPM and barked them all.:burnout:

The previous trip to the track was 108.05 mph and the temps were mid to low 70's when I ran it. This time out was near perfect. I expected a 12.8 @109 and I almost got it.

I don't get it. Im going back hopefully this Friday if I can get off the plane quick enough......

that difference in 60' is so small...the .1 sec difference could be anything....heat in the motor...200 rpm difference in a shift...the truck drifted in its lane...etc...

Alot of guys would kill for a 12 second run with your mods...you are driving the crap outta it....:D
