Going to the track . . Pointers?

Beating others is easy. Getting better and better is hard...some take the easy route others take the tougher road. You will develop wisdom with time grasshopper.

A little more...just can't stop teaching...I have played racquetball for 25 or 30 years. I'm approaching 64...there are very few club players that can stay on the court with me. Most I can beat by 10 or 12 points every game. I rarely, have games that are blowout wins. I take pleasure in good points, excellent competition and superior strategy, rarely do I relish the victory. Admittedly, in my younger years when competing at the state or regional or national level I wanted the glory of the win...and never got it. I never drive serve anymore, I want the competition, not aces.

Today it is the successful accomplishment of a particular goal...or finding a new level in a new arena. Winning is fine but there is so much more to life. I hope Vince Lombardi forgives me...opps, I've done it again.

...if you aint winning your losing
...if you aint first your last
...you can't have 2 number ones, that would make 11

Interesting perspective...I've never been #1 at anything. I hope that you understand that it is a philosophy without redemption, and full of frustration. I hope that your quest will be rewarded and that you will in time, learn to accept the journey as fulfillment. I'm not sure that Ricky Bobby of Talladega Nights is going to be the role model for huge throngs of our society. But there could be worse ones!

I know that I won’t be #1 ever, but I am going to give my 110% at what ever I am doing until I am first or I just can go ant more... If I am not first at the end of the day am I going to stomp my feet and throw a fit? Of course not, but I am going to see what I can do to make sure next time I improve. I strive to be the best at what ever I do.

I love the track, I love the competition, and I love to win. The only thing I want to do is get to the line before the guy next to me, very simple... To me it's relaxing, only worrying about one thing for just a minute. If I win it makes it that much better, I don't need to dance around and gloat, but a thumbs up to the guy next to you never hurts....

Good luck.

Do you understand your RT times? I know I did not when I started. I had heard a .500 light was perfect. But that was not correct. So your .5xx light is a half second late. You can anticipate just a little more.

Have lots of fun. I plan to go on Friday.

I usually leave on the last yellow. :D I usually cut a .5xx to .7xx light! Keyword: USUALLY.
They told me up in the tower to aim for the second yellow light. I aimed for the second yellow light a few times that night and managed a .009 RT.... YES THAT IS .009 and only red-lighted once. The rest of the RT's were pretty damn fast too.
They gave me a pass to come back free. Try it out, see what happens

I cut a .004 on one of my passes after they explained them to me. But that was a fluke, as the rest of my times were in the .08x range after the lesson. Before the lesson I was in the .5xx range.

But, PROF is right. The RT has nothing to do with ET. So if you are at a test and tune, the rt only has merit if you are racing the next lane. I found myself racing the track more than the lane. This helped me to get better launches, resulting in better ET. But I did also start to do better at the light itself. My goal on Friday is to get better 60' times. I do not want to red light, but I am not going to stress over perfect lights either.
