Never thought I would say this....................but I think I like it off

Took mine off the day i purchased it and will never install again! Slapped on a nice hard tonneau cover and believe it looks best. Never to have wing on again, good for you yet another one converts and likes it! Nice!

I went wingless a few weeks ago and am very happy I did. I can actually use my truck now as its my DD. I know most of the guys on here don't drive theirs everyday and have other trucks, or its a show / hobby truck. Here are 10 things I have gained by going wingless:

1. Useable bed
2. Able to see better out of my rear view mirror when backing up
3. Able to climb into the bed with the gate closed from the rear
4. One less item to wax and wash
5. People don't ask you about it anymore (Whats it for? Its a truck?)
6. Can put a roll up tonneau cover on the bed. (I find them more functional)
7. Able to add aftermarket bed rail protection (I know, I know, I use my bed though)
8. Don't have to fumble with tools or brackets when you actually have to use the bed
9.Able to go through the automatic car wash without the kid telling me it mayb get damaged and they won't cover it if it does.
10. Can use the drilled holes for dual CB antennas on the bed! (Ha, Ha, just kidding)

Try it for 30 days and I bet you find yourself putting the wing up in your garage rafters like I did.

My truck is also my DD and like you, I need to carry things bigger than a pack of gum.

1. Useable bed
I haul stuff all the time.
2. Able to see better out of my rear view mirror when backing up
3. Able to climb into the bed with the gate closed from the rear
I use the tires as a step and go from the sides.
4. One less item to wax and wash
5. People don't ask you about it anymore (Whats it for? Its a truck?)
But now everyone will ask the Hemi question. That gets old, quick.
6. Can put a roll up tonneau cover on the bed. (I find them more functional)

On those with a hard tonneau, the wing comes off when the tonneau comes off. My tonneau + wing comes off in less than a minute.
9.Able to go through the automatic car wash without the kid telling me it mayb get damaged and they won't cover it if it does.
Wait a second. In #4 you said 'one less item to wash/wax.'
10. Can use the drilled holes for dual CB antennas on the bed! (Ha, Ha, just kidding)
Been hangin' out with Stinker? LOL

Try it for 30 days and I bet you find yourself putting the wing up in your garage rafters like I did.
I think the trick is to find a good tonneau cover that the wing can mount to.
This gives the most options, the best bed protection, and fewest Hemi questions.

Man......A wingless truck is like a girl without clothes.

Wait a second.........I like girls without clothes.:D

Well.................that actually IS part of the reason !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Less identifiable :D But,I do like it now that it is off.

just took it off, and put it back on. I've got to have the wing! I'm probably going to have to put my tool boxes in the truck, so it's gonna get a rat pack, to side boxes and and below the rails box. So if i cant get to my big box i'll have to take it off, or leave it on until i get to the hotel ill stay at, remove it until the engine is fix or inspection is completed. Then reinstall it for the drive home, or to the next job.

Makes it a srt. Im also thinking for whenever someone asks why a truck has a wing, im going to put a small sticker in the back that says.... BECAUSE IT'S FAST.

Good idea! Why do you need to remove it until the engine is fix or inspection is completed?? :dontknow:
