I dropped the truck off for an oil change/tire rotation this morning. I also told my service guy that the brakes wer out of control squealing when I stopped each time. They just called me back to come pick her up. But, the good part is Dodge made an upgrade on the pads for the 05 SRT's because of excess brake dust, and noise, and its COVERED UNDER WARRENTY. Its 12mo/12,000mi on all pads. So he ordered them for me.

So for all you 05's that are experiencing loud brakes/excess dust take it to the dealer and get it checked as long as you fall in the 12mo/12,000mi then they have to replaced them!

man i have been looking and i only see the factory part number for the srt 10 pads. i dont see any diffrent part number. i have a feeling they are installing the same part number on your truck that came from the factory. i hope it does stop the squeek and dust issue. if it does please let me know and i will test a set out on my srt 10 to see also.

thanks man

pat- He gave me the number, and it was different than the original.. I dont have in in front of me. Do you think they might be using a pad from a different application? Is there anything else that chrysler has that would fit? Maybe the 06 pads??

2005 and 2006 are the same part number. the part number 5143402ab is the newest number. when you get the part number that they are giving you just post it and i can let you know what it is.

there's not a TSB for brake noise. I bet he's thinking of the SRT8's TSB. no new part number for updated brake pads.

i just got back from the dealer. He assured me that there is an upgrade for our 2005 srt-10 pads. The new part number 5143402-ab Pad Kit F 5003003. They are ceramic now. Check it out Pat, and see what you end up with.

i shot a e-mail to DCX tech center and will see what they say, if you are getting this covered under warranty go ahead and have them do it. i will let you know when i hear from the tech center.

i am going to my dealer to fine out what they say?
by the way, do you guys think that DC PERFORMANCE will do this kind of work?
if so please let me know.....:dontknow: :dontknow:

I dropped my truck off for some warranty issues this morning and I brought up my brakes sqeaking and heavy dust. The dealer told me that there was no replacement pad for 05-07, well we know there is no 07, I am on my way to pick the truck up and I will have the parts department run this part number and if I have to I will purchase the pads to put in myself. Anyone else have these replaced with the new part number???

about 1 week ago I got them done for the factory. its listed as a ceramic pad, so I dont know what your dealers are doing, but its out there. I went on a 400 mi road trip, and I had NO brake dust on the front wheels afterwards. If I was to do that with the stock pads my rims would have looked powered coated!!

Well I was told they would not help and that Dodge will no longer replace pads under warranty for squeaking and dust per a TSB that was released here recently. I will just use up what I have and purchase some aftermarket ones. The parts guy knew what I was talking about, but the Viper Tech says they won't work, however your telling us otherwise. I beleive you over the tech, either way I won't be getting a set for free.

ya, its wierd. Dragon a vendor here is looking into it. He's got an inside on a dealer where hes at.. I was told its 12 mo/12,000 coverage. Maybe Dodge just doesnt want everyone to get new brakes, or my service guy did me a favor..only time will tell?

I hear ya on the type, my parts guy could not tell me what they were made of as the material is usually listed. The pads listed for $170.00 if I wanted to buy them and try them out. I'll wait till I wear down my stockers before I do anything. The tech told me I could wax my wheels, anybody ever done that?

Great - turned 13000 last week!

ya, patrick is looking DEEP into this option,a nd he will get the info to us when he gets it. I want to get the info out ASAP, so everyone can take advantage of the pads.

good man, thats the first step. When you bring it in for the install you should ask to see them, or at least ask what material they are.

good luck!
