GoPro question

GoPro owners, I got a question.
I recently upgraded from a Hero to a Hero2.
I also bought the extended battery and the LCD.
Why does this thing come with the open backs, and the sealed (waterproof) backs?
I am going to buy a case to carry it all, but I now have 8 different backs depending on what I use. Do I really need them all?

i always use the sealed paks sound is still good and less wind noise!!!!

You can see a good set of my videos on YouTube. I always use the closed back and it gets great sound, even on the motorcycle. I can't Imagine ever needing the open back. Nice camera. Have fun with it.

I have a Hero 2, and I've been using the open back, sound is great.
Supposedly, the open back picks up more sound, but the wind noise is worse probably...

Use the closed back for anything over 100mph and the open back for under 100 mph.

Not happy with the fisheye. You can only use the camera on narrow setting to avoid the fisheye. Unfortunately the regular definition video at 120FPS setting only has the wide option. I use the camera on 1080p on narrow mode only.
