Well, with alot of work and alot of head scratching we went and had the truck weighed again. The weight went from 5200lbs to 5140lbs. The front weight went from 3400lbs. to 2800lbs. The rear weight went from 1800lbs. to 2340lbs.
Much better distribution of weight now than before. we moved the gas tank back, battery back with the JMB battery relocter kit. Works very well. swapped out the total stock exhaust for a long tube stainless Billy Boat Headers, Catless mids and Magnaflow muffler exhaust out the back. Removed the spare tire, took off the stock mirrors, went with smaller lighter mirrors. Lighter wheels. I hope to see what the transfer of weight does at Maxton Track this weekend.

Keep working Nanna , good results, mine is at 4980ish so far with 3/4 tank of fuel:rock: but I still have stock mirrors and stock wheels:D

I know the weight distribution is 55/45, but is that with a full tank? BTW nice job moving the weight back.

Smoke

Wow!!
I,ll be watching this!!
I figure around 5 to 6 tenths

makes no sense.....:dontknow:

your old figure of 3400lbs F 1800lbs R was goofey....the scale must have been off

moving a battery and the tank won't make that big of a difference especially after removing the heavy ass spare from the back.....

The stock exhaust manifolds alone are very heavy, the stock battery is almost 60lbs, The wheels were close to a 60 lb savings. The tank on both of my weigh ins was at 1/2 tank. That is what I will be running. I also had removed the excess brakets from the spare tire mount and there is the ballast bags I'm running in the back also, on the first weigh in, I had removed the spare as well, I think that is why the weight was so different front to back. I also think the change over on the exhaust is huge, the stock exhaust as awhole is very heavy. Also, the new tank is 18 gallons instead of 26gallons.

Maybe the tank was empty the first time and full the second time.

hmmm...

Hey Nana...what did you add to the truck...?

60lbs less for wheels and probably the same for exhaust and a smaller tank...but the weight dropped a total of 60...?....you add a cage...?

what does a gallon of gas weigh...?...6lbs...emptyish vs full = 100lbs...

About 6.7-6.8 lbs per gallon times 34 gallons (32x6.7=214lbs)

5.8-6.5 per gallon and the tank is 26 gallons.....what are you smoking....?....can you send me some....?

Heh heh. His truck is going to be running a TAD bit longer than a 1/4 mile. LOL

Jet fuel. :D

I'm not sure, but I believe it weights more per gallon than standard unleaded.

I agree that the numbers just don't seem to add up. You lost 60# total but moved 540# to the back, I have my doubts. If you are just weighing on a typical truck scale they realy aren't acurate enough to give solid numbers for these kinds of changes. You really need a set of racing scales that go under each wheel.

Also get rid of the balast bag you are running, it will just slow you down.

OK, I went back and got my slip from the first weight in- on 4/12/07 the truck weighed in at 5420lbs. That was with me in it. I weighed 300lbs. on the dot, so I got out and the truck weighed in at 5120lbs. The front scale said 3160lbs. and the back scale said 1960lbs. I did have figrues screwed up.... Sorry! So, I went back on the 18th of this month and the truck weighed in at 5140lbs. Me out of it. The front scale says 2800lbs, the back scale says 2340lbs. that's the facts. I do not have a spare tire in the truck as of now, I do not have the stock gas tank, the Viper thank is 18 gallons, it was half full, thats 9 gallons and it now sits behind the rear axle. Back in april, the stock tank is 26 gallons, it was half full, that 13gallons, it was in front of the rear axle. thats roughly 26 lbs less plus the weight transfer to the rear. Either way, the truck ways 20 lbs more than it did in April, but it has 380 more pounds over the rear axle. Sorry for the mis information, Damn you guys are rough. You sums o biches get out here and run them trucks.

He has an 06 which means his gas tank is bigger. Not that it matters now that he has smaller tank. I used 6.7 as that is what jet fuel weighs (average).
