F5 tornados are the most powerful of the bunch. If I remember right the wind speed on an F5 is 270 to 300+ MPH.
Not something you want to be in.
Dave T(BADVENM) said:F5 was the old scale. Theres now an EF rating that came out this year. Its harder to reach EF5 status, but from the pics it looks close. We (us meteorologists) now have tools, pictures, etc to use when assessing the EF rating, things like how the house/structure was built, etc. A well constructed home can take more wind then one weakly built. Lots of stuff to consider when giving a rating, now its much better.
