Apparently there is a thing. I have never heard of them but when they fell off, over the last year or so, I had to start looking....
No joy anywhere except Amazon. They had a picture and bizarre name. So I bought 2 and they fit. I don't shop Amazon normally.

If anyone needs a set of them in the future, I put a set on my old truck right before it was taken off the road. Maybe a couple thousand miles on them at most.

They are a rubber compound and the retainer lugs break off with age and then one day you say hey I am one short. A year later the other one falls off. All the trucks from that era (error) have them.
On a totally different note, the cam followers have quietened down on start. So next oil change will move to synthetic oil. Have Nulon 5/30 sitting there waiting. Is a great oil same level as Penrite or Valvoline. I got it on special at Repco (parts store) 50% off
Repco and Super Cheap Auto are both big parts stores. Same as O'Reilly's Auto One etc

Why the oil weight choice ?

Gooday'
If YOUR Lifters/Followers are louder at start-up, then quiet down, they very likely need more preload.
Is the starter laboring at all? If so, that's another indication.

For the life of me I can’t tell what part you guys are talking about. Can someone put the OEM part number, along with the Amazon link because I probably need them too for my trucks….
