ground force vs x-metal

Can someone tell me which lowering kit would be better. Ground Force vs X-Metal???

Most ppl seem to have the x-metal kit.

In order to drop the truck do you have to change out the stock exhaust or any other parts? Want to make sure i purchase everything the first time.

I think X-Metal is better than Ground Force and there is a new player on the field.............Stinker has an excellent kit available now,even better than the X-Metal (supporting vendor J T Sawyer Trucking)

I can also get a couple other brands, X-metal I would stay away from

but I can get groundforce, and a couple others, but they cant match my price, and mine are custom made one at a time, and the springs are 15% stiffer than stock, provides better cornering and less likely to bottom out, plus you get your choice of size blocks, no other kit provides those items.

I have the X-metal and have no problem with it...that said at this time you best buy from Stink and stay away from X-Metal...

ground force pricing for an rc comes two ways

on complete with rear shocks 1 front 2 rear $680 plus shipping

or will all four shocks 1.5 front 4 rear 970.00 plus shipping


mine is 1.5 custom fronts any size on the rear, although if ya go more than 3 inches I suggest shocks, those I can get for $40 each rear
for $500 plus shipping

My rear blocks are extrud honed and tensil strength it tested to 12,000 lbs

and you also get higher quality hardened u bolts.

I have the X-Metal, but you have to install a camber kit and to slot (something I can't remember what it was) in the A-arm or chasis. Being that Boomer isn't around anymore I would go with Stink. You can't go wrong with him.

Tony- there's a big difference between extruded and extrude honed.
Your blocks are extruded.

For the record, I was NOT discounting anyone's kit (or sucking anything).
I was merely pointing out one of the differences between the two kits MENTIONED IN THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD!!!!

+ 1 for my man, Tony. Nothing but help for me, sure his writing is scruffy (LOL) but that's Stinker, he's not on this planet to wear a tie and create wonderful poetry posts and threads, he builds truck stuff and gathers kits. I have a 1/2" lowering/handling kit which is 1.25" front drop and 2" rear. I have JMBs QA1s all round and his stage-3 traction package on a very mild (550+hp (est)truck. Should be a great street performer, nothing too wild, just plain fun. Xmetal from what I heard is a good kit, just the service lacked (being kind with those words) and the kit wasn't a bolt on, some things had to be done to fit it.

personally, i've found it hard to decide on a vendor because so many threads showed so many different lowering jobs - a 1"/2" looked like a 2"/4" on some trucks ???

i ended up with a custom job from a local drop shop to get exactly what i wanted:

I started with a Groundforce 1/2 kit. Then added Stinker's front springs and QA1's from JMB. I haven't driven it yet but it looks good up on blocks in my shop.
