Thank god there's no limit on failing, 5 times today. Had torrie try and manipulate it. But he said I can't w/o cats. Also called BG told me the same thing. I got some hi flows coming. But guys w/o and passed are you running an H pipe or crossover? I did the driving thing also(500 mile clutch break in). Here's the sheet from the emmisions.

I have jmb mids. so yes the sims are in them. WTF how can some pass and others not don't make sense?
did you run it consistantly for ~ 100miles & was it hot when you went in for your test?........ it might be those couple of "not ready's" that actually failed you, some checks may not have cycled thru your pcm...... i didn't get a copy of my deq test to compare to yours back when i sent it in.....:dontknow:

do you get CEL's?

haven't had any issues myself, marty did my tune & said he turned off the rear cats......?

.

The not ready is what did me in no cel's. Could it be my battery? By that I mean by it maybe low on voltage wipes out the memory for those functions? something I read but everything works fine? I even adjusted my fan's to come on at 200 to get the temps hot. Before I take it in Im gonna put the cats on and see if that does it.:dontknow::confused::(

Ok this one has been around many times as well as myself. You have to put the truck through many cycles before it will report to their computer. It took a full tank of gas and a lot of start and shut off restart city driving as well as highway it took me three tries before mine woud report ready lights. Be patient it will report.:)

do you have access to a drbIII? it looks like you failed because you have 2 monitors not completed. the evap and O2 heaters. If you have access to a drbIII you can force test the LDP test to complete the evap monitor. Do you know how many monitors you're allowed to have incomplete? In texas you are allowed 1 incomplete. If that is the case in IL you can pass by force testing the LDP test. The cats are not the reason you failed by that report.

So just pay the dealer 75 bucks to force it? I was thinking that I will see If I can get access to to one. I think it is like texas only 1.

yeah that would be the easiest way... the o2 heater monitors are usually the first to run. you can also try this... let your engine sit overnight for at least 8 hours and then take it out on the highway and drive for 15 mins at a steady speed of 55mph, it should run on its own...also make sure your fuel is between 1/4 and 3/4 full. if that doesnt work pay the dealer and force test it

thanks, I was going crazy trying to figure the link between no cats and not ready. Actually didn't make sense. Now I remember why I love working on diesels:D

I got the High flows and No issues passed without a problem.

Jim

Matt, I pass easily. If your system is not throwing a code, you pass.

I have no cats, and have my rear sensors strapped to the frame...that gives them plenty of fresh air and that is what they are looking for. Clear your code, strap the rear sensors to the frame, drive for a hundred miles or so and go to the emissions station. Worked on my Volvo too.

those are the ones that gave me trouble.

found out that eracin a code is dam close to unpluggin the ECM to reset it. everything has to do the "good trip" thingie.

in Texas ya can pass with one not ready. my O2's reset in under a 100 miles

he's not failing due to codes... he's failing because not all of the obdII monitors are ready. he just needs either the evap or O2 heater monitors to run. (if IL allows you to have one not complete) if you look at the report it show no DTC's. just get one of the monitors that aren't complete to run and you will pass.. look at the very small print in the comment section at the very bottom of the report
