Coming back from a weekend of playing on the dirt bike I had the dog and myself in the cab with dirt bike out back. Long story short coming down a steep grade back into the Phx valley bike broke loose and ended up sliding on the freeway. Thankfully no accidents occurred as it ended up between two lanes.

I had pulled over and left the engine running as it was about 110F and dog wouldn't be very happy even if only for a couple minutes with AC. Ran back up the hill and managed to get the bike off to the shoulder without dying myself. Got back to the truck and damn if the dog didn't lock my door!!!

Phone was in the cab and couldn't manage to teach the dog to open the doors. Ended up grabbing a rock and breaking out the middle window of the slider. Still had to crawl through the window to reach the door lock to open the door. I'm 6'3" and over 200lbs...it was a tight fit!!

Anyways, anyone replace this slider glass yet. I took a couple minutes when I got home to vacuum and look a little closer. It appears the rear window will need to be popped to put in a new center. Might have been better off breaking a side glass after all...

I would look at what it cost to just replace the slider and then see what it would cost for a power slider window. I would use that window a lot more if I could operate it from the front seat.

I think I have popped my shoulder out of joint trying to open it from the front

I have quite a few of these sliding panels. If you can't get one locally let me know and I can send you one.

Bill.

very very simple to replace...will take you five minutes max you dont need the whole window and you dont need to remove the whole glass....

here you go....

Slide the upper run channel (1) out of the window frame (2).
Slide the vent glass (3) upward to remove from the lower window frame (2).
Lower the glass (3) out of the upper window frame (2) and remove.

The dog did it on purpose, I agree. Did you see the grin on his face when you were trying to get him to open it. :p

He/She should at least pay for the replacement glass. :aetsch:

If you have to break into the truck, the center sliding panel is the easiest and cheapest glass to replace. If you want a power slider though give me a shout:D

Yeah, he thought he was pretty clever. However you should have seen his face when I made the first of 2-3 attempts with the rock before the window finally burst. Trust me he would have crawled into the center console if he had fit when it finally shattered. That'll teach'em! ;)

All I could do while standing on the side of the highway was laugh....:D

Black Pearl....thanks, thats what I thought before deciding which window to break out. I'll check out the power window and let you know.
