The fidanza is too light. Works well for road racing where you keep high rpm and need rapid ramping of engine speed.

With a 5000+ pound truck you need as much rotating mass as possible from a stop. The inertia is required from a stop. For a couple of years it was the fad to go with the Fidanza...but most of us have gone back to the oem (its cheap) to achieve better launch in drag racing and just for ease of city driving. It is much easier to idle away from a stop sign with more rotating weight and in drag racing the heavier flywheel will keep the engine from bogging.
