Trouble maker.............

First off, define "street"... Is that from a stoplight in regular traffic, or off in some deserted, blocked off industrial parking lot?

I'm going to make a statement I've never uttered before... So, listen up. I'm only gonna say this once:

I define street racing as idiots launching their vehicles from a city stoplight on a publically traveled thoroughfare....

Is that clear enough.....?

If you go out in the boonies where there's no fkn traffic and play with your toys, I got no fkn problem with that.........

Aight........?

D

Oh OK, I never street race then, like next to never anyway. By your definition

i live in a small town...never been challenged, king of the streets around here!:D

But I've also got 4 kids, and actually watched 2 people die street racing, and almost had my son killed by 2 street racers coming down main st at 80+ in a 30 zone, was red mustang & some honda ricer. I was pulling in to the Sonic drive-in to get Parker(he was still in a child seat at the time) a shake, and these two crapforbrains almost T-Boned us, and I mean almost if it had not been for my awesome driving skills(which I dare anyone to challenge me), and hit the gas in the minivan we were driving they would have hit the right-rear of the van right where my son was. I knew the mustang(small town), and had already went to his father and told him of previous daredevil crap on main st. Well this time I went over to their restaraunt(they have a pizza joint) and talked to dad one more time...........The car was never seen again. I hated to screw over a 17 yr old kid like that, but he had been driving like this for months before, just never involved me. So there you go, I used to be the one giving you crap django, but not anymore. My lessons are learned.

While I am totally against it, I certainly have done my share over the years.

I am like a recovering alcoholic, every day is a battle, every stop light is a challenge...I do much better these days. My rational brain says it is illegal and stupid, my emotional brain says that that there are few that can stand up to the power I have in my truck or CTS V...and I would love to demonstrate that invincibility.

Most of the time my rational brain wins...but that guy a few months back that purged his NOS next to me got the better of my brain...so I fell off the wagon and blew him away...but I am fighting the good battle and seldom backslide these days...its much easier in the winter...

I haven't really in the 10, the srt4 was a different story. Every mustang camaro Honda, pretty much anything with exhaust on it wanted to race, and most were shocked when they got beat by a 4 door neon! The only people who want to race the truck are diesels, and I really don't like the thought of getting beat by one of them. But we have a couple of spots marked out for the 1/4 mile. And from 8:30pm -5:30 am you may see 10 cars, and most of them would stop to bs, it's way out in the country though. And I don't know if that's any more dangerious than an abandon parking lot (we don't have any that big anyway) but it is just as illegal as stop light to stop light.

I was going to say the same thing as Django, except, define "racing". Racing can be many forms; 1/4, drifting, circuit, etc. I've been at the lights and seen something with a hot engine pull up and through my peripheral vision noticed them looking at my vehicle, that's all the "it's on" we need, I'll inch the car forward in small steps showing the other driver "I'm going to go with or without him" and away we go. I always speed up to around 120kph then ease back down to the limit (100kph) or just over (normal cruise speed 110kph) and as always, often get the flyby. I love 0-60mph times, that is my favorite "time slip".

I let them drive by. I showed them the tail lights, no point throwing punches when you've just been KO. I only do this on highways, never in ANY built up city areas. That stuff is just wrong. I get assholes in beaters doing handbrakes right out side my house into the street opposite, I race out on to the street and "encourage" them to come see me to discuss these manoeuvres. Little punk mofos, they hit a kid down here and its lights out. Since then they have stopped doing it, although they will probably start up again, if not here, just around the corner.

I've posted several videos on here and if you've seen them you'll notice my "fun" stuff is always done WAY OUT in no mans land. Only me, the road and my vehicles. The racing I never understand is two cars going at it weaving in and out of motorists, taking corners hard, etc for a good 5+ minutes, that's just idiotic to say the least. I think we'd all be lying if we said we never put our foot down in these machines, otherwise we'd all be typing this on 1.2LHondaCivics.Com! We buy these beasts for the power and you buy the power, to use. Hot rodders have been tearing it up since the salt flats, so all the halo preaching in the world isn't going to change the fact that boys will be boys. Some just have more sense than others. There IS a time and place to enjoy what vehicles can offer. Be safe and use your common sense, simple.
