I am considering doing the exhaust on my 10,and was woundering is it worth the expense of headers? Do you really gain alot more HP? or does it depend on the header? If so which ones are worth the cash and which ones should be left on the shelves?
I gather from what Ive been reading here that Magnaflow is the overall choice behind the headers, just lookin for some info to kill the curosity:burnout: :burnout:

It's been discussed over and over. And over.

Do a quick SEARCH and you should find the info you're looking for.:D

The long tube headers generate the most gains for the NA build. The shorties give you a conservative gain of around 15 - 30 RWHP depending on your mods.

I would say this is not the best bang for the buck as far as performance gains compared to the money spent. The sound is awesome.

I just talked to Ted May (Viper tech) On this subject and he said the Belanger Lt's Our the best In Peformance For N/A And Forced Induction Motors. He has pu them on over 50 Vipers he said.

IMO,not worth the expense..if your looking for some bling, get them jet-hot coated. (the stock headers)

Lets answer his Question guys will you gain a Lot of horsepower and is a seat in the pants improvement or not???? who cares about Showing off the headers???

actually, i think the gains are pretty good, and it is worth the $. lets say you spend $2k for the Belangers, and pick up 40hp. or, you could spend $8-9k and pick up 150-200hp with a blower. works out to about the same cost per hp.

WTF....we are up to 50 rwhp now.....:D

why not 100 rwhp ......?????...

One member of this board added longtubes and a throttle body and got 8rwhp...8.......but if you believe the advertising you can add headers and a TB and pick up 63rwhp add a volant and you have almost 90rwhp....bwwahahahahaa.....

My opinion is it depends on your budget and long-term plan. I know I'm staying normally aspirated but I want the most horsepower I can get on stock internals. I didn't think about dollars versus horsepower when I bought my Belanger long-tubes, Belanger hi-flows, and Magnaflow cat-back. I know they flow better than the stock system so I got them. Same applies to the Billet Throttle Body I have ordered on the group buy from Sean. I believe it flows better than stock so I bought it. I expect that by March of 2009 I'll do heads and cam. At that point I want best flow in and best flow out so as opportunities present themselves I'm jumping in. At some point I'll get an aftermarket intake manifold or have my stock one ported. Nope, can't make a dollar to horsepower comparison and I don't even try.

Develop a long-term endpoint, identify steps along the way to get to the endpoint, choose wisely and start the trip.

best mods and cheapest, jmb catless mids and a magnaflow exhaust(all for under 800,well i got a deal on the magnaflow:),forget the headers

I think for $2000 upgrades for long tube headers (Belangers for examples) you can get Bone's ported and polished heads as a well as titanium springs. Just a suggestion. Also you can get a VEC3 and custom tune your ride. I really believe headers would be a last mod, just because of the price/HP gain factor.
