I love lamp
Do u need a tune after you put on headers with high flow cats?

Thinkin bout sendin my pcm off to get flashed.

I already have a catback magnaflow with the back cats (or resignators whatever they r) cut out. Can i go ahead or should i wait till i put on the headers and high flow cats?

Thnx in advance

tune is not required but you wont see full potentional without a tune. If you are going to get your pcm reflashed, i say wait until you got the headers and midpipes on.

Awsome thanks bro.

BTW anyone have any idea how much hp increase a set of long tubes will give u to the tires. Cant remember where i read it but seems like 30 rwhp is the number. is that about right?

tell you this brozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I pulled all the cats off my truck 04 RC and put different mufflers on with 1300 cfm flow per muffler, and my PCM.

I could notice a big difference, throttle responce was much better.

Ohh and roe TB also that night too.

Wow. sounds like an expencive night.lol

I have to be careful how much $ i spend at once on my truck. It is just a toy and with our second child due in a couple months the wife has really cracked down.

Im guna do the headers and midpipes with the pcm.

Then wait a couple months save some cash and proly go with a TB, Intake and stinkers heads all aqt once.

Hopefully by next winter i got enough saved up to get my motorhead buddy to help and build the engine

Then its supercharger time

We will c how much $ I spend on my other toys but that is the plan

dependin on the h eaders about 30 or so hp, but go with an sct programmer, instead of flashin the computer, flashes are back in the golden days of horse and buggy really, with t he SCT you have much more tuning available, jsut email torrie at [email protected] tell him JTSVP sent you and get special pricing bud,

Listen to this guy:rock:

And you may want to reconsider on getting heads if your planning on going FI ( supercharger/turbo)

Horse and buggy :dontknow::dontknow: damn you know how to hurt a guy :D

Really. Didnt know it was a dead science. I had my 05 qc flashed and it made a pretty big difference and it only cost 250 for the flash

30 ish rwhp for $250... I thought that was a steal.

What is the diff between the sct and a flash. Keep in mind i dont have any local dynos to take my truck to.

Isnt the tuner just changing the same things the flash does exept you can change them more than once?

Plus arent the tuners like $650. I talked to mike at B&G and he said he could flash and give me 40rwhp for $350. (although i dont really believe the 80 crank hp and 40rwhp)

Also troy, why not the heads if a super charger is planned? Forgive me if these are stupid questions, never been mistaken for a grease monkey.

I talked to roe a while back.

he was asking what i used far as a tune. told him I had a b&g stage 2 pcm.

he told me he could in a nut shell get me a dyno tune downloaded, take where I live and such things and make a tune for me.

I kinda said the same thing, would 600.00 really gain me that much more over the pcm.

Also JTS. I have been all over ur website and read many threads with u in it.

U are the man. Not tryin to question u just tryin to understand and learn

U are my hero..lol:rock:

HAHA looked for a smily face bowin down but couldnt find one, we need to get one of those in here

Exactly dude. Takes atleast 30 hp to feel a diff in that heavy-ass 05 qc i used to have, and let me tell u, i gained at least 30 rwhp from that flash and all i had done was a cat-back with rear delete and hamade cai

Extra pcm $500

fmash $250

But i just wanted to b able to switch them since the truck still had a warranty

jsut been thru all the goods and bads on these trucks from 04 on up buddy,

but a flash like you say is x amount, you get for this

one generic tune one tune only, if you upgrade to anything, you must pay for another tune, hence sending the pcm off having it flashed again, meaning downtime waiting on the pcm to get th ere an return

plus if ever you go to the dealership or so on, an by chance they flash an upgrade to your pcm, well you just lost the performance flash you jsut paid for

now with the sct you get three tunes, from a guy that originally wrote the tuning program for the vipers for sct

so you are getting first hand expert tunes

now you get three tunes that you can upload, say a 93 octane tune, a valet tune, or even an economy tune, or save a couple for anything you may do in the future

but also you can do dyno tuning, which is the best, you can get with torrie and do a tune on a dyno an tthose are truely the best way to go.

now also , if you are ever out on a sunday afternoon, have a problem or just added headers or a blower, and need a quick safe tune , torrie answers, even on sundays, I cant think of any other tuner that wil do that.

plus he gives service after the sale, so after you get your sct , like me , you are not a number, your a person

most everyone asks $600 for the sct tuners an three tunes, but send him an email and tell him you are a JTSVP customer, and you will be amazed at the price you are given sir.

he usually responds within 15 minutes of emailing him

Get the SCT tune...I did headers, cats new exhaust...and have a smile on my face every time I hit the peddle.....well worth it.....went thru JTSVP and the price was right

Awsome. that sounds like it is worth the $

Also i live in central IL, Torrie is on the east coast is that right? If I do change something drastic and need a quick change can it b done via computer, or does he hve to have the tuner to make the changes.

And i dont know anyone round here to tune my truck on a dyno. Not that i trust anyways

The tunes can be emailed to you! You just upload the tune from your computer the tuner then upload the tune to the truck and you are good to go !!
