Are the viper car heads interchangeable with our truck motors? I'm thinking about buying a set of used viper heads and having them port and polished.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm going to stay on the look out for a set cheap so I can add some more HP without modifying the original heads. One more thing, is it same to assume that because the heads are the same my Gibsen headers would still work with the car viper motor?

On this subject....I have a set of OEM heads from a truck viper engine. Is there an actual "left" and "right" when it comes to these heads? I look at them and can't tell a difference between them.
Anybody know?

just a porting and polishing is not going to get you much ,,,the cost and time ,you wont get a whole lot out of it ,,,unless you go to a bigger set of valves in it the gains are very small for the cost ,,,been there done that

I would have to say if you dont know what heads will fit what engine, or which are which then I would leave the building to a professional, not meant to be offensive at all, but an observation

There is a local guy here that did my dad's heads for his 340 and is know for his work around this area. I might do the cam down the road but as it is right now I'm not in any rush for heads or other parts as I just got the truck so I'm going to take my time and find parts at the price I'm willing to pay.

Don't know how you ment to sound when you made your comment earlier but you came accross like an someone that thinks they are better than others.

not a bit sir, in my experience I have run into the same problems , and I have learned instead of making my mistakes to examine and ask the technician that I had doing the work, sorry if it came across in the wrong way :itsme:
