Grüße nach South Carolina:)

Hell, yes i can, if the permanent rain stops here...:D
I say it with the actual words "yes, we can.."

We get pictures from a radar measure, the police made it (no fear, its a friend of me) of the Autobahn A3. On this part of the Autobahn we have no speed limit and it goes little down a hill. You can drive so fast, what you vehicle can :D
The only problem what i have are the front door seals. The door have vibrations and you can feel, that the door loose the exact closing and sealing.
It stops, if the rear window are open a small, but then you have a vaccuum insite the cab. It knocks in the ears same as you climbing fast to a mountain.

Now, the Lucifer runns this speed with cargas LPG and a spezial gascarburator from Prinse ( i told you we have a 250 l gastank on the box) and dragster racing gaslines.

Hallo und herzlich Willkommen! :wavey:

My Father just got back from Frankfurt a few weeks ago... He said your people were very friendly and nice. :)

Hi, thanks for welcome

Friendly Germans, why not?
I think a lot of people have a very old impress from the Germans and the Americans. Shure, it gives a lot of black sheeps, but the moste here are open for fun and peace.
In my works two souls - my gandpa comes from LA.

Quite the contrary! He was impressed and humbled by how friendly they are, in comparison to the Americans! Americans can be very pushy and rude, especially for foreigners ... He had no experience, that, as in Germany. Your fellow countryman are wonderful people. :)

it's the slang that gets you in trouble...;)

a good friend of mine is in milan right now...and she emailed me the other day...one of those...you think you're day is bad???...

....from her email:

What I meant to say was "thanks for the language exchange."
BUT
I definitely thanked Giovanni for exchanging tongues with me.

What I meant to say was that I went to the market, which is "mercado"
BUT what slipped out of my mouth early in the morning was:
I went to the "marketa." (which is an old word for a place where there are prostitutes.)

We had just watched an excerpt of an old film in language school. In the beginning, the lady was watering her garden and found a baby in the cabbages. My teacher asked a question and what I wanted to say was, "because she waters the cabbages."
Had NO idea how to say "watering" in Italian but I did know the word for cabbage.
So, pulled out handy-dandy "fare." Instead of saying watering in the phrase I said, "fa l'acqua."
And my teacher looked over the rim of her glasses and said (in English...which I didn't know she spoke) "Amber, the lady did not piss on the cabbages."

So, so far this week, I have exchanged tongues with Giovanni, hung out at a place where there are prostitutes, and said a sweet, old lady pissed on some cabbages. I think I am to horrified to open my mouth now! Too bad that's not an option...

haha...good times for language barriers:D :D:p
