HELP.. Gen X Install

2006 Truck - RC The 06s are DIFFERENT from the 05s ?? on how to remove the console.

I just can't get there. Does someone out there have detailed instructions
and/or photos on installation of new shifter ???
I took the shifter boot/plate off and removed two bolts to the rear
of the shifter on the bottom of console.

HELP!! Where do I go from there? I don't see any more bolts, clips etc.

Any help will make my wife real happy.

Take the console off...theres like 6, 8mm screws. Then remove the 4 bolts that hold the shifter down. I'll see if i have a photo

2006 Truck - RC
The 06s are DIFFERENT from the 05s ?? on how to remove the console.
I failed to indicate that I have an 06 RC. The only bolts I saw were
the two removed from the Bottom of the Front Console which is separate
from the rear console. I saw no other bolts anywhere :dontknow:

I think maybe the 04s and 05s might be different form the 06, especially
RC from QuadC. I did print up everything out of the owners manual and
it didn't do me One Bit of Good. :banghead:

There are clips that you just have to pop. There are screws inside the console as well. I have pics.. I just have to find them.

You have to take the top of the console off. It is held by 7 clips, 2 on each side, 3 in the rear. The rear clips are a real pain. Once that is off the console base has 3 8mm screws, 2 to the rear, 1 front right. Then the 8mm screws out and remove the boot from the floor. Put the truck in neutral and remove the 4 bolts that attach the shifter to the console. Remove the shifter and reverse the procedure to install the new shifter.
