Help locating parts

when my engine blew in early 07 their was a big back order on oil pans 3 months good thing wifey has some parts maybe she could start a career sourcing hard to find auto parts

Cut the special ends off the old hose, braze on some steel AN or JIC (same thing) male fittings and then use a steel braid hose with the nice anodized aluminum ends. I have done a couple hoses on my truck so far as they fail, and they look way better when done. I think its BS that they wont improvise and are threatening voiding a warranty. I could never get away with that crap in the Agricultural industry.

Hasn't Chysler been shut down for two weeks?

Is this part of the hold up?

My high pressure line failed as well. When I pulled the hose off I saw why it failed (engineered for quick assembly rather than reliability) thus I made my own hose as a replacement. Took me an afternoon at my local offroad supplier who carried a large assortment of AN fittings.

I've replaced three hoses so far that have failed. All were of the same crappy design.

is it the hose or the quick disconnect that is leaking?

hose is on back order.

if its just the quick disconnects. cut the old ones off and replace them. this is what we had to do for a SRT10 in our shop.

good luck

After my wreck in April 2007, my truck sat in the shop for a total of nine weeks, mainly because of the high pressure lines not being available, so this is nothing new.

Good point....I know on the oil exchanger lines all you need to replace (if you are stupid enough to replace with the factory crap) is the end fitting. The hoses themselves are not the problem. Cost is what $5? Takes longer to pull the truck into the garage and slip a jack under it than to replace them.

Its not just cars but just about all machines and vehicles its been like that for a few years, but now all the Bs going manufacturing everywhere is waiting for large enough orders before they start filling them. Dont forget where alot of parts are of course the same thing is going on with US parts makers also. Junkyards and custom shops will be booming unless gas goes to 15.00 a gallon:dontknow: This is just what I have been told by a few manufactuers so, thank god for the internet:marchmellow:

i would bet that the folks that had the engine oil cooler fittins leak was at the outlet port at the block. mine was almost beat apart from the oil pump by-pass valve prob.
but my oil cooler hose split/failed, but got good lines on now
