I need pics of Cal-Tracs properly installed on a QC, so I feel better about my install before I try to drive it.

I've seen some torqed the u-bolts to 110 ft/lbs, but the (vague) instructions call for 50-60 ft/lbs.

I didn't use the supplied spacers because I couldn't figure out what the hell they were for(vague, non-vehicle specific instructions).

TIA

Thanks, but your axle flip kit makes your set-up way diffedrent than mine.
I need to be sure that mine is installed right-I can't believe how bad the instructions are.

Waiting on my wife to finish getting ready, I guess I have some time... Here are the pics, I'm concerned that the nuts on top didn't seem to engage the u-bolts enough, and I didn't use the supplied spacers.

Got a Q for ya stink. Ever thought about making a single driveshaft for us QC guys? What problems do you forsee in something like this and is it even feasable, worthwhile?

I see now. You didn't flip the leafsprings, hence the different bracket. So is this how you will be keeping the suspension? I imagined that you would flip the spings under the axle to drop the truck. With the setup you have, you should be fine to drive it like that, but you may hear a noise with that flapper bar (the bottom leaf spring) orientated the opposite way compared to the others. Drive it and see what you think of the ride quality. How's the gap between the tires and the wheel well? The way mine is setup, I have about 3-4 finger gap in the rear

Yep, this is how it stays. I tow pretty frequently and my new house will be on a dirt road, so no flip for me.
It looks higher than when I started, but it was on jack stands for 24 hours. Hopefully it will settle back to near where it was.

thanks again

Gotcha, you should be ok with that.
What you could do, if you wanted to lower it sometime down the road, is you could switch out the rear shackles on the leaf springs where they attach to the truck. This way you can lower it and still be able to use the cal-tracs which is what I did with mine and still tow just fine. Just an idea. I did it with mine b/c I was hitting the bump stops all the time with the 2/4 drop.

Ah ha, I see it in your sig line. Hopefully it will settle back down a little with some mileage or you could always get a few buddies to sit on the tailgate :D and tighten 'er back up.

Black night I can check on it bo.

the u bolts look almost too short, how much is left?

trq the pooh outta it:D it want hurt it bro, promise:p

the catracs will also raise it up just a tad too due to the force of tightening it down:D

drove around till it started pouring, seems alright. The bark at the 1-2 shift is now a chirp, and the 2-3 chirp is gone. I'll take the wheels off and retorque tomorrow.

Stinker, you're right. The u-bolts seem too short, we'll see what happens when I torque the pooh out of them.

Thanks again guys.
