Usually it is 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first. :( GOOD LUCK!:D

Have you tried dis-connecting the battery for a few minutes to see if it clears the code ? If it doesn't come back you likely don't have a problem. If it does,THEN take it in.Did you find out what the code was ? free readings at AutoZone

What month is the date of manufacture? If it's a late '04 then you should still be covered under the time constraints. For instance if the date is 6/04 then you should be covered until 6/07. Unless my math is screwed up.

hmmm I hope it is late 04 I will need check it and yes I did find the code and it is P-0442 any idea what is it? I heard that it was NVYD leak or something maybe I spelled it wrong

warranty starts from date of purchase not when it was made. but on your door it will tell you when it was made.

THe warranty shouldn't start until the vehicle was sold and put into service. I bought my truck new in June 2005 so my warranty was started in June 05. And I also believe the 2004s had a 7/70 warranty, not a 3/36. Check your window sticker if you still have it.;)

They flip flop back and forth between the 7/70 and 3/36 so much I can't keep track.:dontknow:

i read the warrenty book, it said 3/36 soo i bought truck in dec 06 means it should be still under warrenty until dec 09, correct?

I believe the 3 years starts the day the truck is sold new, not by date of manufacture.

Bill.

Usually the warranty takes affect at delivery date, I think. There are still a few "new" 05's out there. Does that mean they're warranty is getting eaten up by sitting on the lot?

You probably bought it used. I think you said you have 24K miles on it? The warranty started from the date the original owner purchased it.

You may still be covered under a TSB or emissions warranty. You won't know until they've had a chance to run a diagnostic on it.

yes i bought my 04 truck used there was one owner previous i will try call dealer who i bought truck from and ask them if my truck still have warrenty

P-0442 is listed as a small evap system leak. A gas cap that's not completely tight will set this. It takes two complete warm-up and cool-down cycles to clear it though once you correct the problem.

Just bring it in, I'm sure its still covered under the 3/36! Most 04 SRT's were purchased new in the beginning of 2004. I believe actual production run started in July of 03. Unless your truck was one of the very first one's off the line and into an owners hands, you should still ahve a few months left. Check the door sticked to find the manufacture dat and figure it was purchased within a month or so of that date!! Get it checked soon, time might be running out. The dealer can run the VIN and tell you right-a-way, just bring you Registration paperwork into the Service Manager with the VIN# on it so he can check for ya. I have an 04 that was manufactured in June of 04 and purchased in August of the same year. My 3/36 warranty is good untill August 2007 (I have 17K miles). If worried, pick up a powertrain extended warrantly before the factory warranty is up for around $700 at your Dodge dealer. Its worth it in my book!

simple fix...see above...read carefully...two complete cycles...or I think you can also be sure the cap is tight, disconnect the negative lead to the bat., leave it off for 15 -20 minutes, that re-boots the pcm...

Bet that works.

hmm ok I will try both it, first take negative plug off the batery then check it if still on then I will try two complete cycle, also 2 complete cycles that's means I will need run it then turn it off then run it again then turn it off again? right?
