HELP!....

I'm hearing valve train noise. Then a little later in the clip I hear a deeper noise like a rod . I wouldn't drive it. Have it towed home remove the nos and plug any install holes. Be sure the PCM is stock calibrations. In order to sleep better use a mechanics stethascope and listen to the valve cover, then the head and finally to the side of the block near the oil pan. You should be able to isolate the location(s) of the noise and have a better idea what it is. Call the dealer to pick up the truck when you get it back to stock and be there when they check it. If they say you over rev'd it tell them you have trouble with the second to third shift frequently. Blame it on the shifter it's a factory problem. Even the SRT engineers couldn't get the factory truck to shift right at Mopars at the strip last year. They know the shifter is junk and causes problems.

Don't dirve it untill you are sure what the problem is.............

The crank makes two revolutions for every one revolution of the cam. If it's louder under the truck then it's probably a rod.

It sounds like a spun bearing, but really hard to tell from a sound clip. It could be an exhaust leak but doubtful.

I would not drive it, and tell dealership you were just driving when the noise started.

Put the truck all back to stock as it will still probably be a fight with Dodge, even stock.

Exhaust can stay.

ok despite of what yall have said im driving home as i type this..... im around 1 miles from my gfs house....the ticking noise is still there but not as loud..an desipears some times....now im also hearing a grinding like missing teeth in the tranny...runs fine seems like there is no losss of power..im babying it but still feels good..i am thinking drive train tho...illl see if i cant get a good sound clip driving an when i get home

ok welli made it home no problems...except..the gears in the tranny are very ery sloppy....idk something inside me says tranny i could be completely wrong but just that little guy in the back of my head says tranny....cause i just drove the truck 45 miles home.. nothing blew up no leaks no smoke....if it were a push rod or a spun bearing it should have gotten worse right? ticking noise stilll sounds like it's coming from the bell housing?? but then again i know pretty much nothing about this motor.. just seems to me that it should have gotten worse/louder if it was the valve train

I guess its possible that you coulda roasted your clutch...or broke something in the tranny, given that you made it 45 miles etc..
