Hennessey Venom 650R For Sale

[Venom 650R]

I have a Black 2004 SRT-10 Regular Cab for sale. This truck has the Hennessey Venom 650R package. That package cost $34,500. (that is above the price of the truck itself) It has been featured in Truck Trend and Motor Trend. The truck currently has just over 10,000 miles. I am the 3rd owner. The truck is originally from Florida, but now resides in Illinois. Never seen salt or snow. Always garaged. Clean CARFAX.

This would be a great starting point to built upon to make some really big power, i.e. with nitrous or forced induction. It's bored and stroked to 522ci. It has heavy duty rods, ported heads, a blue-printed engine, and lots of other goodies on the inside. The 650R engine package is the foundation upon which Hennessey builds his 1000+ HP twin-turbo monsters (but with low-compression pistons).

May consider selling just the engine, in exchange for a stock engine + cash.

I really apologize, bro.... I know times are tight... I had to sell my truck at the end of last year... I hear you....

But this forum is almost universally anti John Hennessey.

More good money has been flushed down the toilet by Hennessey and his shitty automotive work than you can possibly imagine.... Just the words "John Hennessey" are capable of creating rage in some members and utter disgust in others...myself included.... John Hennessey is a shitty mechanic and designer.. a ripoff artist and maybe even just an old fashioned asshole as far as many here are concerned....

So, excuse me for being so negative... and please excuse my initial sarcasm about "Candid Camera"..... but it may prove difficult to sell your truck on this forum..... all things considered.

I mean no ill will towards you, bro..... It's all about John Hennessey....

Gotcha. Thanks for all the info. I have also heard some good and bad about HPE. Sorry for rockin' the boat. I didn't realize HPE had such a bad rap around here. For what it is worth; I have owned the truck for just under 2yrs, and it has always started and ran awesome. No break downs. Maybe HPE put a little extra effort into this one due to it being featured in a magazine. Maybe he was trying to get some good reviews..........Or, maybe I just got lucky. Anyway, knock on wood, it's treated me well.

What your best bet may be is to go ahead and post a price bud, whether its a hennessy or not, its still a SRT

but right now , if you are pushing a sale about 20k is your best bet

You are indeed one of the very fortunate few.... Congratulations.

Some guys here spent tens of thousands of dollars on vehicles that never ran right, leaked oil or simply went kablooey..... They rarely (if ever that I know of) got satisfaction from JH..... In my mind, he's worse than a crow that fly's up the ass of a dead animal just so he can reach the gut without work... (Sorry, that doesn't translate well from Mandarin Chinese.....) :argh:

Maybe the road record that you have will bring some confidence to a prospective buyer.... Good luck, friend...

Appreciate all the info. I was afraid of that ($20K sale price, that is). It sounds like the Venom 650R package is making the truck worth less. I can't blaim you guys at all. Sounds like HPE has really stuck it to some people.

At some point I have to decide whether to just sell my daily driver pickup, drive this truck for my main vehicle, and get some cheapo bomber for the winter months. Believe it or not, this truck gets pretty good mileage, if you keep your foot out of it. Almost 20mpg on the interstate. Thats way better than my completely stock GMC.

20k is only "immediate sale" bo depending on how tough times are.

My opinion? I would ask 28k, and see what happens:rock:

Yes, it is a very nice truck....... and the fact that you've got 2 years on it does account for much in the durability department...

Venom, its late for the forum actually, send a pm to a mod, say iltemprd, redsrt007, ocbob, or fstjack an ask them to delete these previous threads

Then do a repost for sale, and not use the Hennessy word so , uhum, strong

Just say ya got a RC with all the mods listed, exhaust forged internals so on, and go that, and post a price you are wanting to start at, if anyone asks about it being a hennessy , jsut say yep it was in the magazine

You may be surprised at the results
