Hey FSTJACK! Coronet Runs 10.91@122mph!

Great run, you no doubt have a little more left in her also.

Bill.

Sweet run Dave... glad you got it figured out... now just need to watch it live at the Nat's next year. :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: and get you some good vids and pics of her tearin it up:D

Thanks Ken. I kinda got an itch to run in the pump gas drags in Memphis next year. I am going to change from a 3.91 to a 4.30 gear, jet it up 3 to 4 sizes. It is crossing at 6200-6300 which is low for a .660 roller. I HOPE I can get the 60 ft down to a low 1.40 and it will still run 132 mph with the 4.30. I want to maintain the full dressed street car with full interior, full exhaust and street tires. No nitrous or supercharger just motor!!! I said I would be happy with a low 11 but that was before the 10.91. You know how it goes, fast is good but faster is better!

Just thought I would let you know what my fuel problem was. You know at the Nats I was fighting fuel problems. I ended up switching regulators to no avail,so I just put a Y block in place of the regulator. Still lost fuel pressure under wide open throttle. So I decided to check the fuel filter even though the whole fuel system was new. I could barely blow through the filter,so I replaced the filter. Fuel pressure went from 11 psi to pegging out the 15 psi guage. I set the bypass on the pump to 12psi,left the regulator off and lordy, lordy. First pass ran a 11.53@117 with it lean popping. I didn't have any jets or tools at the track so I added 5 gallons of 112 to the tank which made it about 75% 112 and 25% 93 octane. This richened it up some and the next pass was a 10.91@122mph with a 1.49 60 ft. and the left front tire about 3 inches off of the ground:rock:  :rock:It went through the traps at 6300 rpm with 9 psi fuel pressure. When I got my time slip the guy said " I hate to tell you this". I said what was it smoking? He said "No you can't run anymore because you ran WAY too fast without a cage, you ran a 10.91" I said if I ran a 10.91 I don't care I am happy!!
What I decided is the fuel cell came in the car when I bought it and had foam in it. The pump is a 250 gallon per hour and recirculates a lot of fuel continuously. It may have dislodged some trash that had collected in the foam over the years. Regardless I was on cloud 9 to be able to drive the 25 miles from the motel to the track in stop and go traffic, no nitrous,no blower,no trans brake, through the mufflers,3750lbs on MT drag radials with leaf springs and the front tire in the air:D It doesn't get much better than that!!!
great run bro, congrats. i still havent worked on my truck since the nats!
