Is there a big differance between hi-flow and catless mids? Is the hp gains a very noticable differance? I was just wondering if it is worth changing out my hi-flows for catless mids? Any help here, I would love to hear.:dontknow:
Thank You,
Brad

Catless would be cheaper, and I'm sure you'd get a few more HP. I don't think anybody's done a real comparison to know how much the difference is:dontknow:

i went from stock 4 cats to 2 hi flow cats. nice feel of extra ponies. went to no cats mid summer & dam. very peppy & the sound is great

17 vs 25 whp i believe

I was going to say about 7-8HP,the biggest difference is going to be the loudness, the catless are WAY louder!,Two guys I know here has high flow cat with magnaflow catback and headers and the other with stock manifols and catless with magnaflow catback and the catless was twice as loud, drowned out everything,"NASCAR loud" I call it,could hear him 2 blocks away coming up behind me with my windows closed.

And then there's that catless stink...:argh:

keep your high flows your doing your part for the environment....(air and NOISE pollution):D

P.S. i read on the forum somewhere that some back-pressure is desireable.

I am running (2) B&B High-Flow cats, and they don't seem to be restricting the exhaust.
If you DO go the catless route, a re-tune is required (according to Dan at DC Performance).

How much is the re-tune?and what all is required to run cat less.I was wondering the same thing.I was going to do headers then pipe then flow 40s and thats it.

If you have an SCT controller, I think it is a free tweak and not a big deal for a tuner. If you have to reflash your existing e.c.u. and ship it away, I couldn't tell ya cost wise.
I guess you just replace the cats with a chunk of pipe and buy some sims to replace the o2 sensors so you won't trip codes.

There are several threads on this mod. (You still online Joe?)

i just hung the rear O2 senors in the air per Seans suggestion & no codes

I think ZCx may have just answered his questions about catless...
Just hang the rear sensors and let them fly in the breeze..Who woulda thunk?... :)

Thanks Joe.

After following (2) catless SRT-10s on the way to race in Edmonton (at just a touch over legal speeds), I could hear and smell the trucks a 1/2 mile ahead of me...

For some reason hanging the sensors work for some trucks and not others...I was among "others"...CEL would come on at about 300-400 miles...now I have the SCT and just turned it off..
