Thought I'd do a little write up on my HID install on aftermarket Headlight assemblies.
First off, Its the Digital 4300K H1 bulb unit from our vendor Xenon Depot.
First step, obviously remove housings...
Remove dust cover and wiring from unit and pull wires through assembly cover and remove bulb.
Found that the bulb opening wasn't quite large enough, used a dremel tool and grinding stone to open hole more, worked perfectly. Metal dust was easily blown out of housing.
Installed new HID bulb. The bulb actually had 2 sets of wiring connections but removal of the jumper harness made for a cleaner install.
making a small "X" cut in the dust boot made it very easy to run the new wires and plug ends through for a well sealed cover reinstallation.
Next came adding in the new harness jumper and resistor lead from the regular bulb harness.
As you can see it was easier just to cut off the one plug and splice the new harness directly on.
Only thing left is the Power wiring harness and Digital processor installation under the hood, very easy, just plug and play. Only need to find one power and ground for each headlight.
Now...just reinstall Headlight assemblies.
All done!
SOOO Much Brighter!!
