Greetings all, new member from LA here. I'm hoping to be an SRT10 owner soon - got the green-light from the boss (i.e. wife), so I need to strike while the iron is hot, so to speak. ;)

Anyway, I'm specifically looking for an 06 Inferno Red RC M6. I need any owners to tell me the REALLY good (and especially the bad) about these - for instance, I know they bring instant grins when you drive them and I know the gas mileage sucks, but I want the low-down on any problems anyone has encountered, and anything specifically to watch out for. I had an 04 QC with the Hemi that I thoroughly enjoyed and put 57K on, so I'm pretty familiar with the Rams in general - and am now looking to upgrade.

This won't be a daily driver, and as much as I think the QCs are ultra-cool, I wouldn't want one because I really want the 6-speed. And I have nothing against the 04s and 05s (and wouldn't turn one down if it's a REAL sweetheart deal), but my heart is set on an 06.

If there's already such a post about these, I apologize for the repost (did a search and didn't fine one). I have a 78 Firebird Formula (remember those?)as my "toy" car now that I'd have to unload first before I take the plunge, but I think I'm ready.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. :hello:

If I were you I would try to find one that I could get records on. It seems that oil changes and general maintenance are important on these more than a normal car. I got mine with 50k miles on it, which is a little high, but it has a 100k mile warranty so, I take the good with the bad. Anyways, my power steering pump was bad ($95), my windshield washer fluid doesn't work, and the brake pads were shot ($70). I fixed these and other than the wear and tear everything else is doing good. I would consider these items general maintenance though.

I don't know much about the 06's but you will have a better chance with the 04 or 05, I admit the newer ones have less bugs to work out but by now these guys on this forum pretty much know what the bugs were and have a fix on them. Any low mile one you find jump on it. I found my 04 with 16k on for 24k so, plus there are a few for sale on here.

When you do get one you will fall in love with the way it goes. good luck in your hunt for your new toy.

Bill.

Welcome to the club! You are family from the start. good luck in your hunt. let us know if you find one around and need one of us to look at it.

QueLaroqua's Inferno Red RC didn't meet reserve on Ebay, it may still be available at the dealer in Miami.

After looking at it again closely... I dunno, looks like it's been lowered, which is a big  for me - no offense to those with lowered trucks, but the "lowered" look has never been for me. Plus I'm not a fan of the chrome door and tailgate handles... it looks like a great price, but I think I'll keep looking. :)
