how about the shaved appearance

I like it, I think it cleans it up well... I dont know about the shaved spoiler though:p :dontknow:

the spoiler

to me the spoiler is a controversial item on the truck

to some it looks great, it looked good to me but i was going for the custom approach on the truck, it actually looked better with the spoiler off after all the body work was done and it got repainted

A must is shaving off the Ram and dodge emblems if you have a 04 model!!!

Shaved door handles??? For me its not worth the cost but that doesnt mean it doesnt look good.

except for the door handles, hate it

i shaved the door handles my self then ordered a autoloc kit for 109.99 and probably had $30 in supplies after that it is really an inexpensive mod if you can get someone to blend the paint back in versus repainting the whole door over

Well since you know how to do it, thats great. I couldnt shave bo-diddly other than the emblems!!!!

patrick

emblems

to me getting rid of the emblems was the hardest, because i believe the factory uses 3m tape if im not mistaking and it is some good stuff i ended up using fishing line and dragging it behind the emblems then getting goo gone and a heat gun to get the rest of the glue/tape off the ones of the hood were the most complicated ones to me

some local guys said that they had no problems with theres i guess i just have bad luck

THANKS, great info to know

so where did yo buy all the parts?

parts info

i bought a kit from a company named suicidedoors.com

it is a kit from autoloc it comes with everything you need all it is is a kit like keyless entry you hit a button it pulls the handle on the inside of the truck and you install a pushed in the door jam and it helps it open then all you do is remove the handle make a template out of metal i made my own but you can buy them through suicidedoors.com for like 10 bucks for a set and you can also buy a tailgate handle relocater that moves it on the inside of the tailgate versus regular style.

any ways sand down around the existing handle location to bare metal place the template in place always use something to keep the metal cooled down because the hotter the metal gets when welding in the template the door will start warping according to how hot it gets then get fiberglass filler or body filler swipe the door once or so or until your satisfied then prime and paint and your done
)
the kit comes with eveything you need other than sand paper, primer paint, and welder but other than that to do both doors tailgate antenna hole and remove all the emblems it tooks a whole weekend and a lot of liquor and then we brought it to my buddies and sprayed it (another drunk weekend ) and your done i have some pics on my digital camera of the steps if your interested in the look of it

i just figured id do it cause id never seen it done before and i figured i be the first idiot to try it

but furthermore standing close up to the truck in person it looks so good because it is different thats what i was going for

I like the look myself...Very clean ! Just like my head

I knew by the title of the thread you would be here :D

My honest opinion...don't like it done to a limited-production truck. I've been in the vehicle customizing business in one form or another for the last 15 years.....trust me, I've seen many shaved door handles, tailgate handles, fuel doors, mirrors, etc. My experience with over 80% of the shops that perform this type of work always have to re-do the body work and paint in a matter of a year or two due to chipping, bubbling....(I've even seen this in 6 months time)...just not worth the hassle IMHO. Unless the body shop you're dealing with has years of experience with custom rides and an awesome reputation of welding cleanly with minimal "fillers" I wouldn't use them. Whatever route you decide to take, do your homework to save the headache down the road. Good Luck.

Man I go back and forth about shaving the handles....I am worried that it will make a QC look too long....?...

But I am researching doing a chop job on the cab...2.5" off....less wind resistence......:D

I thought this might have to get switched to the offensive area, so Silver could post some pussy shots. I see we a talking about trucks, Opps did I just ho this thread. Pardon me.

Bill.

i'm going to remove the large DODGE and RAM oem badges from the truck, my question is--- i need to move one of the srt-10 badges on the door so it will match placement of the one on the opposite side, can i re-use the one i take off, or will i destroy it in the process?:dontknow: TIA

right, thats what i want to do, but the srt-10 badge will be further back on the driver's side door:dontknow:
