Verified GPS 156mph on an 04 bone stock, took f o r e v e r after 152+

And this is a correct statement. My highest speed took forever AND I was running downhill when I hit the mark. I've posted my GPS verified 163 mph top speed many times before (achieved Nov. 2006 while running with crotch rocket buds clocking 164 on their speedos) and #1900 was virtually stock (except for a K&N drop in and Magnaflow muffler at the time). I'll never forget how it felt like she was running on ice. I'm sure someone will try and call BS, :dontknow: but no biggie. If it didn't happen I wouldn't bother saying it.

The record was set in perfect conditions by a race car driver in an 04 RC at 154 MPH. Anyone that states that they will do more is blowing smoke in my opinion. There are plenty on this site who claim 160+, I highly doubt it.

i swear when i took out the cats i gained 50hp, because i have topped 160 on the speedo, and went past it a ways, i assume the speedo is not entirely accurate at that speed, but i must say the truck was not the mclaren i drove over 200, it feels like my old k-car doing 100, very unstable and easy to crash.

i don't recommend you go over 140 without a helmet, and make no sudden turns as the back end feels light at anything over 150. it also sounds like a tornado outside as the wind noise is actually louder than the engine.

i am also betting that some of the 800hp units on here might crack 180-190 and anything over 1000 will do 200. thou i would not make a hard turn at that speed.

i also must say i am not brave enough to take photos over 150 as i will be on the phone to the ins company explaining how i crashed a truck and left debris for over 1/2 mile.....

I don't think you understand the physics involved...

In the Bugatti Veyron, it requires about 300 hp to get to 150 mph...it takes all of the remaining 700 hp to get from 150 to 256 and they are aerodynamically as slick as a vehicle gets these days. Our trucks have a huge profile...they end up pushing so much air that I don't think 200 is possible in anything with less than possibly 2000 hp. Just my opinion.

i quote james may on this one, "to double speed one must quadruple power"
so 150 takes 500hp then 1000hp should go 75mph faster, or 225mph.

2000hp whoa, I think they can reach 200mph they did almost 160 from the factory. I know that 40 more mph is alot but I do think that it is possible.

Judging from personal experience, I'd say this description is quite precise.. I know I'll never try that again..

The OEM wing is for "normal" senseless driving. 150+ is pushing your luck. I won't be doing that again so a ricer wing isn't required for me.:D
