How to get a better 60' time

I would put the spare tire back on for weight in the rear. Kansas or Oklahoma doesn't have a good track? Dallas would be closer than Houston.
I can probably get some good air in Kansas or Oklahoma. I know Topeka is having a big show coming up. Some of the guys here are going there. But it sounded like you had to qualify through points to go.

I was thinking Houston because I am familar with the town, and the company I work for has a Condo in Houston. Would save me the expense of a hotel room.

But on a good note I am pretty consistent with my times. Corrected times show about a tenth or two difference. Still got 2.2-3 all day. Had my best R/T .0020 today. I am starting to think I just don't have the power (no air) to get a better launch. I also tried launching @ 1800 rpm. But it seemed kinda hard on the tranny. Next time I am going to do a flyinglow burnout.

Another question is should you stay in the groove or out? I seemed to get better times out of the rubber.

I've used the advice of folks on the forum for my QC running on the stock Pirelli's (22 rear psig, 50 front psig) and have consistently hit around 1.96 at 60'. I lose the tailgate, spare tire, and back seat. I fold the mirrors back. I avoid the water box then do a 10-15 second burnout, creep to the line, set my brake, spin up to 1800, and go full throttle on the light. At Houston Raceway Park I consistently hook with no spinning. At Ben Bruce Memorial/Evadale-Texas I haven't been as consistent (have to back to 1500 launch depending on tinme of day versus track activity and temp.). When cool weather hits our area again I'll make some more runs. This time I'll be on the M&H drag radials (thanks to MoparConnection) so I expect to launch at 2200 and not have a traction problem. I hope to get a 1.8+. No doubt our tracks being near sea level, then being selective when we run on D/A (quite often negative when it's cool, low humidity, and high barometric pressure right after a cold front), we turn some amazing times considering minimal mods versus what others with significantly more mods but terrible air do. For our normally aspirated trucks, good air seems to make all the difference.

So what are your times way up there?

With a Density Altitude of 7600'+ that weekend the motor loses alot of power. But like MauiSRT/10 said, everybody is slower:)

But they did have a bad ass Alchohol drag rail that ran 7.8 @ 180. He was just playing around with it. Not racing anybody. It was cool watching him do a half track burnout:rock: :burnout: I can't imagine driving that in bad air. Imagine what it could do in good air:burnout:

Also talked to a guy that has a 2000 L and he said his fastest at that track was 14.2 with the basic L mods (pulley, shift kit, CAI, exhaust). My best was 14.39 with just the flash. I just need to get in some good air to feel the full potential of the truck.

5000 RPM,hold to the floor,
OH wait,that didn.t work,Never mind!!!:D
