has anyone on here removed their front fenders? I want to remove the passenger side one to take to have the antenna hole filled in. They could do it on the truck but then my baby would have to sleep outside for a few days. F that!

Thanks guys!

Better to just leave it on.....

the better question is where do I relocate the antenna to?

mount in in the center of the spwingoilerâ„¢ and use the damn thing for something :dontknow:

I think I'll try to find a shark fin antenna...

As far as I know; the body is painted after the fender is installed. The paint is bonded between the mounting hardware and the bodywork. Removing the fender would cause much more damage than parking outside for a few nights.

ok, i'll just let it sleep outside. shark fin antenna tho? you guys think that'd look cool or lame?

I was actually looking at doing this as well. In searching for antennas I found a company that offered paint matched shark fin type. To me it didn’t seem like that would have a good look on our roof. I found some Mercedes antennas that are small and look a lot like SAT antennas. Seems to me that these would be a better choice and less noticeable.

Thanks Mikey.....

But my post will contradict everything said so far.

I say, take the fender off and do it right. Weld in a patch, grind it, some good body work, paint the entire fender and know that the job was done right and will last a lifetime

it'll be welded, grinded, etc, the guy I'm going to does great work and has been doing it for 20+ years, he said i could bring it in or just bring the fender, whatever I preferred.

Well if you put it on the roof you could have a wing and a sail.

I was looking into buying an aftermarket fender to have the work done on and replacing it on my time. I found fenders from $45 to $200 on the net, just a thought.
