Yesterday we had 3" of snow on the ground, and about 2" of packed snow on the pavement.
I had to try it. I just *had* to!

Stock wheels. Stock tires.
It was....unpretty. Traction was....limited, to say the least. My driveway is flat, but I still had trouble crossing it. I moved the mirrors so I could see the rear wheels, and watched the tach as well. I rode the clutch like I was delivering mail in 1861. I would say it was touch and go for a while there, but there simply was no 'go'.
Finally, I had made it across my 30' flat driveway.

The Pirelli's are fine on dry, and have not given me any problems on the wet, but in snow...they are a joke. I knew that going into this, but I experimented nonetheless.

I'm glad to hear you're okay, despite the impromptu stunt driving showcase.

The SureTrax bed weight system looks to be pretty cool. I might invest in one to reassure my wet traction.
