Yep i'm so exicted i couldnt hold it in anymore!!! I just got this babe up yesterday and i have to say she will get along quite fine with my other gurl'

Will do..however i still got take care of a few things
1)get it registered
2) get my permit
3)get insurance
4) get my jacket(bidding as we speak on ebay)
5) some how tell my folks that its really my bike and not a friend's:D :eek:

Yes ebay is definately the spot...I'm bidding on the jacket, gloves---i didnt even think about em' , imma look for the ones with the CF knuckles..Draggin jeans, hmm i'm look at those too....Oh yea and I definately need some lessons on riding...I'm anxious to just hit the open air canyons:D

If you decide to get the Busa, want till next year, it's finally getting a total remake after 9 years :dontknow: Thats what I'm waiting on.
 
Looks real good Ferrari. Now remember don't rush into anything.Take your time learning to ride it. Take every corner a little slower than what you think you can go. It is always better to error on the side of caution, and live another day, than make a big mistake and suffer the outcome. Also remember cars have more contact patch with the pavement, so they can stop quicker than a motorcyle (I found this out the hard way). Keep your eyes wide open, use common sense, and have a great time.

Congratulations, you've ruined yourself for life - nothing with 4 wheels will ever really feel fast again.
Like Begood said, don't rush it. There's no point in being brave, it's only gonna cost you money and skin. You may want to consider taking an MSF (motorcycle safety foundation) course - it's kinda like drivers ed for motorcycles. They're offered through a lot of community colleges, you won't have to take the riding test at the DMV when you go to get your licensce, and some insurance companies offer discounts for taking it.
And the #1 rule - RIDE AS THOUGH YOU WERE INVISIBLE, because you pretty much are to most drivers. Assume that every car is going to do something stupid and be prepared to react.

Thanks man, the main reason i got my bike was so i can commute to work. The truck sucks to much gas and i hate racking up so many miles on it. I have 28k on it already. I've only gone like 50mph on it so far and it just
feels so relaxing. I'm pretty scared to ride in traffic because as you said i do feel invisible when other cars are around me. Imma look into the msf course you mentioned, I could use all the advise I can get

Some of it's kinda silly and boring, but they give you some good basics and it's better to start with good habits than try to change bad ones later.

Once you get more comfortable and start splitting lanes, it's really a life saver. My commute home in my truck takes 1.0-1.5 hours and burns a 1/4 tank of gas. On one of the bikes - 20 mins and they both average about 38mpg.

50 mph!! You're not even close to the horsepower:p . Just wait until the first time you rev that bitch over 10,000rpm - it will blow your mind how fast the scenery blurs:eek:

please make sure you get a helmet that fits!

its the number one cause of death, most guys buy a helmet that is too loose, but yet it feels comfortable.

the aria, suomy, and shoei all fit different, dont buy any other helmet or it will be substandard, take it from a guy that has fell at over 100mph more than once:D

the helmet should fit tightly! you should NOT be able to move it from side to side without your head moving.

also you should not be able to pull it upwards enough to spit out without it hitting the chin protector.

I know this sounds uncomfortable but its the safest way.

Get a good set of gloves with palm protection, especially believe it or not the index and the thumb gets the worst of it, aslo the palm.

and if you decide not to wear boots, at least a decent protecting shoe, the ankle is also a weak link.

if you can find a racing organization close to ya , go take a cousre with them, not to race but it will show you tons about braking and corners.

Thanks stinker, I was actually wondering about what the right size should be. I tried to put a med on and i couldnt even get it on my head. I went with the large and i thought it might have been lil tight since the padding pushes my cheeks right into my teeth. Its tight enough that if i move the helmet it will move the skin on my face . by the way the helmet i got is a "scorpion" exo-400 / Snell m2005 approved DOT. I really liked the Shoei but they were a lil out of my budget right now. Thanks for everything stinker, shoot me any links you think i should read.

10 grand..hell I dont think i've taken it past 4k yet...that'll be like in a year or so. I'm actually kind of scared of getting into the throttle right now. about 2 months ago on my cuzn's busa i cranked the throttle and the back tire slidout on me... It did a scary speed wobble. I managed to keep from going down but i guess i'm still a lil scared.
 
I think it is better than the size 12 wedding dress he is selling :).

Good luck with the bike. I refuse to buy one because my addiction to speed is to strong. I would kill myself and I know it. I know some board members will now take a collection to buy me a bike :).
