I Guess we are not the only ones with the 3rd Gear problem!!

Yep, Streetfire is having some problems!!

It's a video of a 95 Viper and a 99 Cobra racing, the viper misses third several times!!

Thank god some people like ugly things, or else I would still be a virgin.

Actually I was betting on the red Toyota at that first light.;) :p :D

It looked like the Cobra actually had better traction off the line, but the Viper was right there from the 30 MPH roll!! :D

I'm sure he would have looked better if he could drive/shift??:dontknow:

Those old GEN 1 RT/10 Vipers are Very ugly. Plastic zip up windows and all.

Also GEN1 motors are not all that. 360ish at the rear wheel.

Yes, Viper is not immune to 3rd. I put a B&M in mine and it went away.

Their is another option

Hold the sifter in a pistol grip, however turn the palm of your hand towards the passenger door. While it will not "feel" right you will not miss 3rd. A few Viper owners told me this trick after I upgraded the shifter in my Viper, however I used this trick with my Hurst in the SRT when playing and have no issues.

Yup, the windows are ugly, that is why mine are never in :)

But, the GEN I Viper is what it was intended to be. No frills 2 seat power car. It was not meant to have the top and windows in sitting in a mall parking lot, however DC knew they had to offer some kind of "cover" as some owners would want them. Remember Shelby was involved in the original design. His thoughts of a car is a big engine, two seats and no window glass. He used several of the ideas from the Cobra. Now the car has evolved into a all purpose muscle car. Yet, most owners still will not drive it in the rain, to the mall, even with their AC, windows and locking doors. So what good are the windows and all teh weight that comes with all the power options? When I get rid of mine someday I will probably move to a Cobra replica. I have always been more old school with cars. I do not want options on my toys, just my daily driver. The only reason I have the Ram was the fact it is sort of rare and, was at the time, the first production truck ever built.

Given I have both the truck and the Viper I can say the GEN I Viper obliterates the truck, whether it be from a stop or roll. Trust me :) Although my "tests" were done with a stock truck and I have yet to run any more "tests" but by the feel is still not as quick/fast as the Viper. Which means be careful around a Cobra.
