My daughter is seven years old and she is mildly autistic.

Today when she arrived from school, she dashed upstairs without stopping and giving me a kiss or a hug. Highly unusual.

She actually ran to my bathroom, threw her book bag in it and locked it...

Well five minutes later she comes dowstairs and tells me that she got in trouble while at school and Mrs. Jackie(Her teacher) sent me a letter.

I ask Tasha want happen in school before opening the letter and she tells me that she didn't listen when Mrs. Jackie ask her to get in line, she had to be told a couple times.

She promised to listen next time and be a good girl.

I finally open the letter to read what the teacher sent me and to my suprise it had nothing to do with a scolding but rather with a IEP meeting.

I guess my little girl was a little bit roudy and then the teacher gave her a letter to bring home. She thought it was to complain about her behavior.

Now to the sad part. Even though I told her that nothing was wrong, she either didn't understand me or didn't believe me. She kept saying the she would be a good girl. You could see she was nervous, not knowing how I would react.

She is alot more honest and a heck of alot more brave then I was at her age. I probably would have burnt the note or given it to my syster to give to my mom.

I just wanted to share this...:D

Having children is amazing...to always put someone before you, teaches you selflessness(is this a word). I could have lived out many dreams if I waited to have children, But nothing will fulfill your life like a child!

She sounds like a real sweetheart.......... God bless you both......

Thanks for sharing your life with us......

You know it. I am very fortunate to have a job that allows me to be home when she arrives. My grandma lives with me and we will stand at the front door waiting for her. She makes a point of having the door open. She says that Tasha should never come to the house with the door closed. It should always be open, welcoming her....
