I need a burnout tutorial

I've had my NR for almost a year and still haven't done any burnouts. I just want to find a huge lot and kill it but I'm afraid of f*@!king up my truck. I guess my concerns are that if I've never done it before in any vehicle, why do it in my dream truck if I don't know what I'm doing. Anyway I'd appreciate some pointers on exactly how I go about doing a donut/burnout. ( QC, automatic, stage II flash ) :confused:

Ummmm.....Step on brake.

Then step on gas. When you feel the the truck start feeling like a caged ferret on crack, start letting off the brake a little bit...then if your feeling really krazy after letting the tires spin, just let off the brake and feel her go.

BTW....might want to make sure there are NO objects nearby that might cause damage to your precious. She gets a little squirly when the rubber is wet.:D:D:D:D
 
Floor the gas pedal while your left foot is over (not on) the brake pedal. As soon as the truck squeals/breaks loose, I'm talking milliseconds engage the foot brake and hold it, you'll get to know how firm or soft you need to push the brake pedal, just a little practise. Listen to the rpms and keep them steady or fluctuate for sound purposes only. Start off in 2nd.

Holding the brake first, in my opinion, is the worst way. That's the best method for foot stalling an auto for launching by holding rpms. Break traction first, hold the vehicle in place and enjoy. Nothing to it really, just be confident behind the wheel and find an out of the way location ie: not in a local residential street.

when you brake you also engage the rear pads,right?
I thought the best way (spare the brakes) to do it on a QC is using a line lock.:dontknow:
 
Guess everyone has their own techniques and ways.

Just be safe and find an out of the way area. :)

That would be the best way. I think if you do it too many times power braking you will mess up you spider gears. I just got the line lock kit and can't wait to get it setup! :burnout:

As you can tell by my screen name I do this alot, atleast, I mean atleast every week in my truck or viper.
QC - (brakestand) Hold brake just enough for the car to not move (I use tow haul mode and I will tell why in a second). start applying gas, if the truck moves foward give it a little more brake (left foot) then more gas, once the start spinning I run it up to redline and it will shift into 2nd gear, now start to slowly let off the brake and keep the throttle slowly going down, it should shift into third and you are off. the reason to put it into tow/haul it so it doesn't shift into overdrive which it will stop spinning the tire and sometime downshift back into 2nd (and chirp the tires). my best is about 12 truck lengths, which everyone in my neighbor good knows about, I still had em spinning at 90mph!!!
QC - (donut) as long as you have a 3 lane wide road(or similar size you can easily do this). I roll in 2nd gear at about 5mph start tunring the wheel once you are head into the turn nail the throttle about 1/2 way down once the end comes around I apply a little brake (still on the throttle), this stos the spinning of the truck, turn steerin g wheel the opposite way and swing her back around, keep the wheel crank and get her around a few times. pick your exit spot, when getting out of the donut turn the wheel the opposite way a little and drift that mofo outta there.

QC - turning onto a same-way-2 lane road (you need two lanes to really drift the back end out there). Get the wheel turned just a little more than need to take the turn. once you start rolling hit the throttle about 1/2 way, when the back end starts coming around get the wheel straight, more throttle(you should be at a 45* angle or so in the road) and keeping turning the wheel the opposite way(into the rear end) now you are drifting the truck down the road keep into the throttle very carefully (I will tell you why). steer to correct and smoke down the road.
if you are attempting this from a rolling stop greater than lets say 10-15 mph be careful, I have smoked that in 2nd and had it downshift to 1st with to much throttle, which put me almost facing the opposite way on the highway, with my wife behind me in her car. I then recieved a phone call from stated spouse, which I declared the phone signal was bad and would call her back, she knew I lied to her, thus prompting no action later on in the evening.
 
Yes I find it comical when ever I bring my car in for service and or a wash and they look at the back with rubber miled up in the fender. I usually get a big grin, thats what it is for.
FYI - I will also post the VIN of my truck before I turn it in.

Find a nice open lot pretend you are making a right hand turn from a stop. Stand on it when the tires break loose correct it into a straight line and watch the smoke in your mirrors. I say this though MAKE DAMN SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO CORRECT A SKID DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE PHYSICS OF CORRECTION IN A SKID!!!! Even using line locks or any other method the QC's especially get squirrely and if you get too loose you will kiss the curb possibly a tree maybe another car or house etc etc etc not the way you want one of 8000 to end up.
 
also for a QC you don't need a line lock, as far as rear brake wear goes - your front brakes are used in 85% of normal braking, rears are never used, so they probably feel neglected.:D
