IAC question

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Damn , and to think I forgot about it and I a lot of Irish .. rmam I a Leprachaun hahaha ! HAPPY St. Patty's Day .... and be happy Patty hahaha !

Havent recieved the IAC ( aka: AIC, CIA :D ) order that still shows tracking SNAFU in Cali !
I requested a refund through Amazon last night ( done money back already ).

Now back to shopping . I fiinding now I cant find one that shows a compatible part number on the ones im looking for from every source Ive searched . It appears the factory number shows a throttle body and some the IAC ???? Confused ! This leads me back to the IAC's being basically the same in the operation with possible exceptions of bolt on patterns , wire configurations or the possibility that the valve could he different .. I tend to doubt any differences that the same ones for dodge engine models vary within years and types of throttle bodies on V6, V8 and even the 8.3's .. They appear to be comtolled IMO solely buy the ECU/ ECM BLAH BLAH whatever you want to call the computer lol .. there just a Mechanical , electrically operated valve IMO . Nobody seems to know !
With that said Ill be order another or head to the auto parts store and spend $40.00 at Orielys auto parts or do another online order that sells them way way less than 1/2 the price and wait for delivery ( $8.99 the lowest Ive found ) screw the mopar part at $159.00 range !

What really piss me off about sensor replacement is what shops charge for the job .. WTF ! COME ON , most sensors have a wire plug , 2 screws and easily accessable and they want to charge in the range of $170.00 to replace them .. TOTAL BS rip off for something most anyone can do in less that 10 minutes . Including erasing and checking for codes .

Yes Siri Repair is very expensive and they always want to charge the fbook rate even when they've used a line hack to shorten the time!

Exactly, why people should learn to do their own repairs .... Especially the simple ones ..

Well, went rock auto shopping and ordered a MAP and a IAC ( again )
The damn 0455 evap. System code popped back up ... I guess Ill have to dig a little deeper and roll my ask under the truck to investigate . If you dont hear from me them Im still under the truck hahaha .

IAC and MAP sensors installed .. both original factory parts came off ...
P retty straight forwad on the dakota ... minor diddles with getting the tools right .. IAC s mostly by feel in its location ... MAP didnt like my torx bit and threw down behind the alternator.. luckily I did retrieve it ..

Afte the IAC I forget to reset the codes and tool it for a drive .. got back home and and tested ... WELL SOB 0432 was back . With the still 0455 ..

I need to tie up the wore from the 02 sensor as it had droped on the exhaust again .. should be a simple fix hahahaha ok , whatever I say hahaha ..

Thenold parts are filthy but the IAC I believ was sticking . After the new one was installed the idle was high but settle down after a minute or so . My guess is the computer releaning ..

Test drove it after testing codes again and no codes showing , YET ! need to drive it a little more and test again ....

Found another dried out cracked hose that relates to the EVAP SYSTEM and maybe thats trowing the 0455 code .. ill need to get around 2 ft. of 1/4 inch hose and replace it .

I also charge the A/C with a pound of the 134a refrdgerant but need to get a sniffer to find the leak ... then more expense for a set of gauges and a vac...

Its one thing after another to get this hing completed ..l I keep adding things to do that dont really need to be done .. IM JUST BORED HAHAHA

I have 3 of the 4 02 sensors and the tool socket kit .. Im still not sure I can get to them all having to be under the truck ,, I need a freaking lift hahaha .. DONT GET OLD !

If their not seized or rusted threads , then it may not be to bad for the downstream 2 and possbly the passengerside upstream one .. the upstream driverside looks like a real pain in the ask the way they located it .. that is the one I believe that really needs to be replace as theats the on the wire has been sitting on the exhaust ... WHERE IS MY WD-40 damn it ! Ill till they fall keep spraying them till the fall out by themselves hahaha

After the MAP and the IAC being installed , finding another cracked EVAP hose at the connection to the throttle body and charcoal canaster ( neither replaced but cut off the cracked hose at the TB and it crack again but less .. Im not sure if its leaking yet) plus the 02 wites falling back on the exhaust . I used a tie tie and got the wires off the exhaust ..I reset codes yesterday , no codes and today drove it some more .. no idiot light or codes .
There was one problem I had that made me wonder which is now gone or today its gone .
When I first startrd the engine cold in the morning the engine RPM's ould run up when I hit the gas and settled back down until I drove about a mile then it was fine .. Im going to say that the IAC caused that as it was pretty filthy and seemed to be sticking . My bet is just cleaning it would have worked also . Right about 150k miles on all those parts its a wonder the dakota ran at all ..
i will still he replacing the EVAP Hoses That I found cracked and 02's will stay in for now and I have 3 of those in my stock of parts lol . It's running great for my old beater !
