IAT mod Complete!

I just went out and looked at mine. Its difficult to determine between the two wires being that they are both blue. One appears to have more of a stripe down it and but its more of a yellow color. The other wire has a faint stripe down it as well that kinda looks grees. but not sure. There are pin number (1 and 2) on the front of the IAT sensor. Can someone tell me what pin number so I can be confident on this. Sorry I may be colorblind or just dumb but just want to be sure. Thanks

Is there a downside to this mod? I understand that the IAT pulls timing out at certain temps...i would like to try this mod out, just wondering if it could cause any other issues.

No known downsides, for those of us that run an inter cooler or water/meth injection. The IAT sensor sends temps to the pcm, when the pcm sees elevated temperatures it pulls timing to inhibit detonation. So when you add 5 or 6 ohm's of resistance to the circuit it fools the pcm into thinking the temperature is 40 or 50 degrees cooler than the actual temperature.

I don't know about engines without water/meth, or an inter cooler.

You have to make the call...if you are running hard in very hot weather, I would be careful...the pcm pulls timing to make the mixture much richer and consequently cooler. If the pcm is not doing that, there is more chance of detonation...and detonation is in my mind the beginning of the end.
