Hello,

i am new to this forum and seems i start directly with a problem.
When i start the engine of my 2005 SRT and it is cold, i have no idle.
I have to stay on the pedal and keep the rev up until the engine gets warm.
When it gets temperature, the rev do not stay at a constant level, they go between 300 and 700. As soon as normal temperature is reached, all is fine and no problems.
I checked error codes: nothing. Also air temp sensor, coolant temp sensor give correct values (at least i think so. when i start the engine cold, they give exactly the temperature like it is out side and then go up).
Also i found no hoses, connectors or anything that is loose.
Only mods that i did is a k&n filter and magnaflow catback. But the problems had beed there before already.
Any idea that could help?

Regards

Steffen

Some have had problems with the TPS. I don't know if a bad TPS could cause your problems but it's somethin' else to check.

Mine does that from time to time in cold weather. It used to be worse but with the latest flash from the dealer it helped out some.

Mine did the same thing... It was a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) for me..... But, the dealer also flashed the PCM w/ a new program. It also never threw a code. But, they found it when they ran the truck through a diagnostic computer. :dontknow:

Schedule a service appointment, they should be able to fix it. :)

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for your help!
Its a reg cab, no mods except Magnaflow and K+N (problem was before this also!). I had it at the dealer a few times, they could not find anything. So i will go and check the TPS. Can i take it from my 07 Viper for testing or is it differnt? This way i would not have to buy new without being sure. I have to help myself, dealer is no big help here in Germany

If I remember correctly, only about 25 bucks?
Seems a little too cheap, but that's the number I recall.
can't be more than 50.
The Vendor Patrick, Avondale has the prices on his web page too.

My dealer odered it, we writes in on the Vipers warranty ;-)
Going to know in a few days if its ok then. Thanks for your help!

I dont suppose there is a 5 star dealer where you can get the latest flash update :dontknow:

Might also be a flaky O2 sensor...

I got the same dam problem and have had it on and off since i bought mine, ive had it to the dealer 3 times and each time for a week and they cannot figure it out and to top it off it will never do it for them, but ive been thinking its not the tps sensor, im wondering if its that glitchy computer. My driving style changes from time to time and its a big difference when i really keep pounding on her vs casual day driving and i notice when i do this, its normally when it acts up on me. Im either thinking this might be the problem because its confusing the computer or that i may have a clogged up cat ? Im at wits end with it though im just going to continue on driving until it fixes itself or breaks then its all on dodge, good old warranties gotta love um. Hell ill blow the engine if i have to to get this fixed. Im thinking computer though but i could be way off but from what ive seen and heard now over the last few months im leaning towards the computer. Just my 8 cents
