Lets do an example from a question from a customer and maybe you get where I am going
he called wanted to know what to do, supercharger, turbo , nos, or na
I asked him what he really intended to do with the truck
he wanted something first that made mega hp
ok , but what will you "really do" with the truck
he said drive it on weekends only, and maybe once in awhile to show and to down town to show off a little
so I explained to himabout big hp numbers, they are good for 1 bragging rights, 2 for track times, 3 not good for daily driven or weekenders.
big hp trucks require alot of attention, there is allway something to be taken care of , changed so on.
so I pointed him towards a supercharger, he gets the cool sound he wants, plus he can make around 6-700hp which is enough for the street and enough for keepin up with most anything on the street.
from there he can do internal mods to the engine such as
heads, good springs, valves, and a PP job
a custom cam to suit what forced induction he wants
strong bottom end
beef up the tranny some with a good clutch
beef up the rear axle
and if the sc'r isnt enough he can always add a touch of nos for more fun
this allows him to be able to go back and super mod the engine bay, inside , exterior so on
and plus it gives him the "push the button anytime" reliability of what he wants
it makes for big fun, an not alot of hassle
