For the life of me, I can't figure out if/how they can be done without removing the intake. I got all of the old wires out just fine without removing it, and could get the boots on the coil towers, but couldn't get that magic "click" on the first few I tried, and didn't have much control of the routing, so I went ahead and pulled it. :dontknow: Dunno why Dodge did that - it was a ton of work. :(

One tip I'll throw out for anyone planning to do this - get yourself a 1/4" hex or 1/4" square drive T30 Torx driver as long as you can get - I used a 6" and attached it to a 1/4" extension and that worked great for every "inside" bolt, including number 9. Allowed for a clean torque and no slipping.

Tip number 2 - destroy the harness clips on each side under the manifold. Two of mine were so brittle with AZ heat and 44k miles, they were easy. The others weren't so brittle, but couldn't get them out in any reusable fashion.. :(

I went with Stinker's wires and sleves and some nylon 10.5mm separators from Jegs. Ripped out the stock "funnel" heat shields which leads to tip 3:

Before you remove the existing plug, rip out the stock heat shields (as long as you are going with a high temp option) and blow out the plug recessed area with compressed air - lots o stuff collects in there and you don't want to dump it into your cylinder when you remove the plug.

I went with Denso Iridium. Significantly shorter electrode stickout, but runs like a bat out of hell so far, so I'm happy.

Speaking of happy, I certainly was when I put it all back together and it worked the first time. Talk about double, triple, quadruple checking firing order before I put that intake back on!!! :):D

yea, its definately not a fun procedure having to pull the intake for plug wires. i'm due for new wires again not looking forward to it at all:mad: but as of now we got no other options. anybody heard whether or not stinker got word on high voltage coil packs yet:dontknow:

that is a great mod/update/ maintenance item one can do to our engines, IMVHO

:congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

Which wire seperators did you go with from Jegs? Taylor? Also, can you post pics of how they look installed?

Yeah post some pics of the wire separators.

I got some from Summit that simply snap 2 wire together. I bought more than i need.n Not quite as clean as i would like but easier than the stockers.

I will take a pic and post up when camera batteries are full.

Good to have her back up and running.

Heres a pic of the simple 2 wire separators.

I will clean the wire loom up better tomorrow. Just got some into place to keep them off the headers. But you get the idea of how they work.

Yes, red Taylors to go with the red wires. I ended up using two 4 holes and two 3 holes - the rest seem to fall in place. I'll post some later.

Are you sure these will work with Stinker's wires? His wires are pretty thick.

Not sure on that style he used. For the 10.5mm Taylors, they are perfect - you can still move the wire slightly but they don't pinch it and they stay put.

I dont know but they say 8-10mm spark plug wire holders.

SO????

They are plastic. But the part that holds the wire is flexible-sorta. It can open up just a bit.

They were pretty cheap. I actuallly scored like 32 of them for $15. So i have like 20 extra. I think im only going to need 8-10.

I'll buy whatever you don't use, if you on't want the extra ones.
