I was showing a guy that has an Srt-8 300C my truck tonight, and when I took it out and punched it in first, I ughhh... missed 2nd... wtf. :bebored:

I seriously would like to blame the master cylinder :toilet:

Hey bro happens to me too. thats why hope fully Justin is going to help me out with that issue. I ordered his upgrade clutch/master/slave combo!

i havent had that problem since i got rid of that big crooked shifter handle and got a shorter straight one from hurst. it was only ilke 70 bucks. all i had to do was make the two mounting holes bigger.

I can't believe you two are the only ones to fess up to this, It never fails (if I am just showin' off) I will screw up and somehow miss second gear. If I am racin or just driving hard I never miss it.

We went thru this issue two years ago. The summary judgement was that the Hurst shifter was a POS. I moved to Boomers Gen IV shifter and have never missed second again...the gate on second gear in the Hurst shifter is a problem and has been from the start.

X-Metal and B&M have solutions.

ya know what.... when i first got my truck in saw all the cool cars... brand new mustang gt500's..and brand new cobra mustangs.. all the lighting guys.....and i all missed shifts...and now that i got my shifting down i'v only seem one stinking GTO...and it really piss's me off lol

I always had trouble with my 2nd to 3rd shift with the stock shifter. Then I got the X Metal gen 1 (B&M), and never miss 3rd anymore.:D

I have never had a problem getting 2nd but the 2nd to 3rd was a problem until I went with the B&M shifter...not a 100% cure but I rarely miss 3rd now..........of course if you are showing off nothing works right..I know from experience...

never missed 2nd. keep it held against the gates wall & yank. 2nd to 3rd have learned just to relax & let it move as it wants to. the Hurst T-handle has helped also:rock:

Whats the difference between the gen IV and the gen I? I have heard that the noise sucks from the shifter. I just like the way my shifter looks, isn't there one with a pistol grip shifter also?

there's a rumor out that the gen1 is a modified b&m ?? :dontknow:
i have a gen4 - it cured my shifting woes, but is a noisy bitch........ the b&m i put in matt's truck recently is very quiet in comparison.......

got the t-handle from summit. they have the pistol grip also. the threads on the stick is 3/8x16

The beauty of driving a Manual transmission car - driver error.
Happens to the best of us mate, who gives a shit! ;)

Hypothetically speaking, if I buy the clutch upgrade kit and replace my tranny fluids with atf could it help my shifting? Or should I still buy an aftermarket shifter? (I like the stock look)

Its not a rumor its fact. Boomer bought the bases from B&M for the gen 1 and made the handles. I paid $500 just to have one before the B&M was brought out for our trucks. I should have waited.
