Im getting a Volant CAI

Well, Ive just bought a New Volant CAI from a member who had to sell his truck. I got if for a Great Deal. WAY under the Price of a New one, Over $400.

I have read allot about them on here, and people say that The only thing they have Going for them is Louder sound, And Basic cosmetic Improvements. Witch in reality is all im really looking for, I'll make due with the Loss of 3 HP if i Haft to, But some people swear that the had HP gains. We shall see, and i will report.

If you have anything to Say, make yourself Heard!!! Opinions, Advice????
Im looking forward to the Transition. Now if i only had some Cat-less MIDS!!!!!!!!!! I would be all Set.

I have to admit, it is a neat looking setup. Just wish it delivered the performance gains that they say it will. Good luck with it. It's always nice to score a good used part for cheap.

i have the Volant. probably comparable to the K&N in power gains. dependin how anal you are about stuff. i did alot of cleanin up & smoothin on my Volant before installin it.

i hate how it makes it harder to pull the dipstick out. Engine heat also warps the ram air duct sometimes if you let it idle and get to hot for too long. I love the sound it makes when you romp on it though. my buddy in his jeep beside me says it sounds soo good when we are racing beside each other and i drop the hammer. You should be happy with it

I have had mine for over a year now and love it. I can't tell any HP gain or loss but the sound is incredible

I like my Volant too... No issues here. I am so close to ordering a new CAI from JMB though.. I think JMB's setup looks cleaner. The JMB will probably be a summer mod for me..

Ditto for me.I had the volant on my truck for awhile.The snorkel looks cool for awhile and then it was just getting in the way! Took it off and ran it that way.these motors generate alot of heat and the scoop does help get rid of it.
The Cai from justin just looks alot better in my opinion.But you know what they say about opinions.Just like a- holes and elbows, everyone has one.

I have a like new inferno red colored JMB CAI complete kit that I am about to place on a buy/sell thread. :dontknow: I thought I wanted it but when I took delivery I realized I hate taking apart something, like my current set up, that runs fine just as is (K&N drop in).

got the full set up,works for me,seemed to get something out of it,i like it.

As people have said, what ever works. I'm only looking for interior sound increases but still went with Justin's JMB system. They will all sound the same under WOT and higher rpms (all suck in more air). I just like Justin's set up better, looks cleaner, more professional and comes in any colour you want. My 0.02c
