..... Are you surprised???
Bet he won't get banned tho.
Well Jake, you're right. He's not going to be banned for that.
For the simple reason that as far as I can tell it was playful banter. I can only assume that as the person he was addressing responded the way he did. That's a decision I have to make pretty often, and it's not always an easy decision. It was easy when there was only a small group here and I knew everybody and knew the relationships they had between each other. But with the numbers here now and the amount of folks that I really don't know I just have to watch and see how things are taken before making that choice.
It's a tight line to walk, trying to distinguish between attacks and friends messing with each other. Do I always get it right? Nope. But I do my best. Do I always see everything that happens? Nope. Again, I do my best.
Some might be surprised about how many posts do get deleted. Some might also be surprised about what goes on behind the scenes with members and PM's that are sent. Sometimes it comes to light because those that receive a PM will share it with everyone, and others keep it private. It doesn't bother me one bit if someone does want to share it BTW, that's their prerogative. But I try not to air anyones "dirty laundry" on the open forum if possible. Do I sometimes forget that and air it out? Yes, I do. I get pissed off just like anyone else, and sometimes I let it get the better of me.
And I realize that at times I let shit go that I probably shouldn't have. And there are times that something gets deleted that probably shouldn't have. But I catch grief either way. If I delete shit, then all of a sudden we're back at the NFFF and no one can say what they want. If I don't delete it, then we're the Alley. There is no winning that one.
Here's an analogy that might work. It's sort of like in a football game when one player smacks another. The first guy often gets away with it, just because there's a lot of other shit going on and he doesn't get caught. But the guy that strikes back gets caught and tossed. It's just a matter of what gets noticed. I can't be everywhere all at once and see it all, I can only react to what I do see.
I try not to take sides based on who I am friends with and who I'm not. So sometimes I might even favor the person I'm not friends with, just to make sure I'm not playing favorites. Not intentionally, but I'm sure it happens. It's not always easy being the judge, jury, and executioner.
Anyway, that's about the best I can do to explain it.
