Any of you guys that still have the stock Hurst shifter, Listen up.

Got lucky and bought a 30 day old B&M from our fellow forum member IndianaSRT10. Installed that baby before the UPS truck got down the street.
This thing is sweet, it shifts so much better now it is unbelieveable.
Very little sound difference (almost indistinguishable) shifts are very positive and much shorter. I did put it the shortest position and it feels good there but apparently theres not enough leverage to make the 3rd gear shift much better. Going to lengthen it when I get back home on Saturday.
Thanks again to IndianaSRT10, he is one hell of a good guy.

good to hear I ordered mine yesterday... it'll be here tomorrow, just in time for Fontana on Saturday

Stock Shifter

Newbie here. Love my truck but do have a complain with the shifter...as I see many others do as well. Anyone that can help me with this would be great. My complaint is that it seems like the throw from gear to gear is so long. It takes a bit to get through the gear box. Also it is a bit hard on ocassion to get it in the right gear. I like the height of the shifter know though and would prefer not to have to reach down too much to shift. Is there a way to just shorten the throw? Perhaps a short throw shifter or shorten the linkage below? Or do I have to go with a physically shorter shifter? Any help would be appreciated.

i'm still pissed about my mids being a no show,i dont like being told yea u gotta place the order before i go on vacation so i can get them out before i leave and 11days after i do the mids still arent here and ur on vacation!

Any consensus as to which is better (ie: shorter throw, less noise) the B&M or the X-metal? Also, can you get the X-metal with the regular ball knob?

For those of u with a Volant CAI that uses the hood scoop...do u like it? Does it give it any more juice? Sound better?

I had the volant and the K@N neither really give ya too much power, but liked the woodchipper look so stayed with the volant.

Never ran a B & M but I have a Gen4 X-Metal with Hurst Ball from Summit and never miss third. The stock ball will also work.I even have the Mobil 1 ATF in my trans and don't have any noise. It seems to be an individual opinion thing.
