We all know removing the intake manifold sux donkey balls. Yes I have the extended T-30 bit that most everyone has, but I still thought there has to be something better. Last week I had three stock bolts get all catty whompus on me while installing the intake. I had to go buy a 1/4 20 tap and fix the issue.

Today I rolled over to Ace Hardware & True Value and found what I was looking for. I bought 1/4 20 1" long Socket Head Bolts with a steel washer. I bought steel washes just incase I need to use a magnet to fish any dropped bolts out of the intake abyss. Yes I did drop one, but the magnet saved the day.

I used two specific tools for the job. EZ Red Quarter Stick XL 1/4" Ratcheting wrench & 1/4 Ratcheting bit driver #4S12 with a 3/16 hex bit & a Snap-On 3/16 Ball Point Hex Key. I did torque a couple to see where I needed to be by feel then torqued the rest by feel. I am a mechanic so I felt comfortable with doing so. 95 inlbs is not a whole lot.

I found that my install went faster and much easier using the 1/4 20 1" Socket Head Bolts. Cheap & easy upgrade and a lot less headache than the stock bolts.

went with stainless, bolts, lock washers & flats.

does go much smoother.:rock::rock::rock:

I don't know why everybody thinks the intake manifold is so hard to take out. with a Torx bit and 1/4" long extension you can take it out in 30 minutes more or less depending on the amount of beers you had

removal of the inlet Sucks Ass and it shouldn't:D Thanks for the post though:rock: once you've done these a few times it must get better:dontknow::dontknow::D
