there was a kit for the 06 REC unit but it has been discontinued. its p/n 82209617AD but no dealers have any in stock. so chances on getting one are going to be slim.

This is what I ended up going with. Still able to use steering wheel controls to track forward and back.
This does not display anything on the radio screen, but does give a direct input into the radio (no FM modulator).
Let me know if you have any more questions.

You have to use the ipod to navigate, but once you are on an artist, playlist or whatever, you can use the radio or steering wheel controls to change track (song).

You learn to make playlists, or listen to Genres

Just another thing to think about. this company modded my REC radio for a video input. This way I can watch movies from my Ipod. This is gonna come in handy for the wife on the ride to PCB. All control via the ipod though. And not cheap.

Looks good, also a bit of custom work. I wanted to keep the "factory" look to it. I couldnt find an aftermarket radio I liked. Also the opening is bigger than Double DIN in the 06's. I would have had to glass it in anyway.

04-05's use 82209616AC..they are available

Have any specific details on what this allows you to do with the IPOD (use steering wheel controls, etc.)? How hard is it to install?

Smoke

It will charge your ipod and you use the radio or radio controls to control the IPOD.
