JMB oil catch can?

I want to order a JMB air induction kit (I know no more HP I just like the way they sound)but what purpose does the catch can has in a NA engine?

That link was blocked but I googled it because I didn't know either, Now I want one. That explains why when I took my throttle body off, there was lots of oil residue all over the inside and inside the intake manifold.
