Join the Military?

Talk to each Recruiter on separate days and don't sign shit. Wait until you have talked to ALL 5 of them, and then make up your mind. (On a side note: I tend to be kinda partial to the Navy...)

Send me a PM if you want some info.... (I might be able to direct you to someone closer to ya.) Also, the Marine Corps is not a bad gig either, I would make sure I was going Aviation though!!!

Do not listen to this ass clown. But any branch will be a worthy cause. But, if you want to be a Marine you better want it, I can tell y ou what you need to do at Boot camp to make it and be above the rest, but it ain't going to be easy. If you got questions about the Marines hit me up.

Yeah, the wife's happiness is my main concern, and the AF seems to be the way to go. It seems that the only person that wants me to join something other than the Airforce is the Marine Recruiter go figure

If family is the biggest concern, I would go Guard or Reserve of the branch you prefer. There you have more options of jobs in and out of the service. Plus, you are treated more as a person than a number.

If I could do it all over again, I will definitely go guard or reserve right off the bat. (I did Army and Air Force ROTC and went Active Duty AF.)

As far as joining the military, most people have some sense of Patriotism, civic duty responsibility, or calling that brings them to the military. Only you can answer that for yourself. If you do feel that in yourself or your heart, it will carry you through your training and career. I believe most others that have served will agree.

Also, some that have joined and have done well, have followed in their relatives foot steps. Thus, have been guided and mentored by them.

In addition, Federal/Military jobs lately have been very stable as far pay, long term career, and retirement.
